About the job

Do you want to make a difference for children and young people every single day?

At Rosengårdskolen we believe that strong communities, high professional standards and diversity go hand in hand. Therefore we are now seeking a department head for our special unit, Fønix, who wishes to help create the best framework for our students, staff and the continued development of the whole school.

You will not be alone in the task. Together with Lotte, who is the department head of Fønix, you will be responsible for a department with about 90 students, 12 classes and around 50 engaged staff. At the same time you will become an important part of Rosengårdskolen's overall leadership team, where we work closely together to develop the world's most important school for the many different children across the mainstream and special education areas. We already have Lotte, Bo, Cecilie and Søren in the leadership team, but we are missing you.

We are a markedly new and human-centered leadership team that places emphasis on openness, trust and sparring. With us there is plenty of room for reflection, curiosity and different perspectives. We see leadership as something we succeed at together, and we actively use each other's experiences and professional backgrounds to create the best solutions for the school.

A daily life with meaning and influence

As the department head in Fønix you will have the opportunity to shape both daily operations and the strategic development. Together with the leadership team you will, among other things:

  • lead the pedagogical development of Fønix
  • be a close and clear leader for a part of the staff
  • support high quality in the work with our students and their individual needs
  • closely follow up on student cases and collaborate with the students' networks and external professionals
  • contribute to the didactic development and the special education effort
  • ensure a well-functioning daily life through coordination, planning and administrative tasks
  • actively participate in the school's overall leadership and development.

Who are you?

Perhaps you come with leadership experience. Perhaps you are ready for the next step in your career. The most important for us is that you are passionate about the well-being and development of children and young people, and that you can see the value of a specialized learning environment that bridges to the mainstream area.

You have experience from the school world and knowledge of the special pedagogical area, either as staff or as a leader. You are focused on creating followership through relationships, dialogue and trust, and you see employees' perspectives as an important resource in your leadership.

As a person you are curious, collaborative and present. You thrive in a daily life where two days are hardly the same, and where there is both a need for structure, overview and human insight. You are able to build good relationships across disciplines and partners, and you are motivated to help create solutions that make a real difference for the students.

We hope that you

  • have solid experience from the public school system and preferably leadership experience
  • meet people with trust, respect and recognition
  • communicate clearly and engagingly, both verbally and in writing
  • are committed to collaboration and joint development
  • can balance between personnel management, administration and pedagogical development
  • are eager to become part of Rosengårdskolen's culture and at the same time contribute with new perspectives and ideas.

With us you get

A meaningful leadership job at a school where the sense of community is strong, the ambitions are high, and where we work every day to ensure that all children and young people feel they belong, develop and succeed. Yes, you can really make a difference. You will have engaged colleagues, skilled staff and a leadership team that believes the best results are created through trust, collaboration and a shared direction.

We look forward to hearing how you will help further develop Rosengårdskolen and Fønix.
