Substance Abuse Counselor at Middelfart Substance Abuse Center

We are looking for a substance abuse counselor at Middelfart Substance Abuse Center with employment starting 1 December 2026 or as soon as possible thereafter. The position is a 37-hour per week position.

About us

Middelfart Substance Abuse Center is part of the Center for Social Psychiatry, Rehabilitation and Substance Misuse in Middelfart Municipality.

Our core task is to offer outpatient social and medical treatment to residents aged 15 and older with substance and/or alcohol dependence.

The treatment includes, among other things

• Individual treatment sessions
• MOVE program for youths
• Group treatment
• Couple sessions and sessions for relatives
• Medical treatment
• NADA

We work multidisciplinary and holistic with the citizen at the center, and participate in coordinated intervention pathways across collaborators.

The team consists of

• 5 clinicians
• 2 nurses
• 1 doctor
• 1 administrative staff member
• 1 department head

About the position

We are seeking a practitioner with a social work background – very preferably with experience in substance misuse treatment.

You will play a central role in the treatment work and must be able to navigate a busy daily life with many collaboration interfaces – both internally and externally.

We expect that you

• Have the desire and energy to work with people living with an addiction
• Work in a committed, structured manner and have good collaboration skills
• Actively bring your professional expertise into play
• Have the ability to accommodate and meet vulnerable people
• Are skilled in relationship-building and establishing contact
• Want to be an active contributor in a colleague group where collaboration, sparring and joint development are in focus

Your main tasks will be to

• Provide substance misuse treatment for citizens aged 15 and older
• Join and support coordinating pathways – especially for citizens with dual diagnoses
• Work interdisciplinarily and holistically around the citizen
• Work independently while loyally following shared decisions
