About the job

The Supreme Audit Office's task is to monitor the government on behalf of the Parliament. We investigate whether Parliament's decisions are turned into reality, and you can become part of that. Read on if it sounds like something for you.

At the Supreme Audit Office we are about 300 employees, working with both larger investigations and audits of public accounts. Right now we are looking for two employees for Office 1, which is responsible for auditing the following ministerial areas: Ministry of Justice, Ministry of Research, Higher Education and Digitalisation, Ministry of Education, Culture and Church Affairs, and the Ministry for Children, the Elderly and Housing. You can read more here .

Your tasks will primarily be auditing the ministries' administration, where we focus on how a ministry handles concrete tasks. You will particularly focus on three ministries: Ministry of Education, Ministry for Children, the Elderly and Housing, and the Ministry of Research, Higher Education and Digitalisation. But you will have the opportunity to participate in different tasks across all the office's ministerial areas.

In Office 1 we are 18 employees with different educational and professional backgrounds. We work in teams so we can utilise our different strengths and preferences.

Our results must matter to the outside world, so we select carefully which topics we investigate. Once chosen, we collaborate on the task to ensure that Parliament gets products of high quality.

It is central for us to present our results simply and precisely, so they are accessible to the Parliament and the public.

You are probably a social science graduate

We are looking for someone who has a social science education. Since we have two vacancies, you can be a recent graduate or have several years of experience, preferably with project management. You are analytically sharp and able to create an overview of new areas and issues.

It is an advantage, but not a requirement, if you have knowledge of state administration, financial management and auditing or have experience with the state's accounting systems and internal control. Perhaps you have knowledge of state rules and IT systems within accounting or budgeting, e.g., from a controller role.

We place emphasis on that you

  • have a high professional level and strong analytical abilities
  • have an eye for detail, but still maintain an overview
  • are a skilled communicator – both verbally and in writing
  • accept and give feedback openly and constructively
  • are solution-oriented and can prioritise
  • write so it can be understood
  • take responsibility while recognizing the different roles in a collaboration
  • contribute to a good collaborative climate.

Employment terms

On average we have a 37-hour work week (including lunch), but there will be periods of extra workload. We offer flextime, and it is possible to work from home on Wednesdays if it fits with the tasks.

We have good opportunities for professional development.

Your pay and terms of employment are determined in accordance with the collective agreement and qualifications.

Upon hire you must be able to present a criminal record certificate. It is also a condition of employment that you can obtain security clearance, and that you can maintain the security clearance throughout your employment period.
