After many years in Favrskov Municipality, our esteemed principal at Søndervangskolen is retiring, and we therefore seek his replacement who, with respect for the current culture and with a clear vision, will lead the school's continued development. Søndervangskolen is a well-functioning school with an academically ambitious and inclusive pedagogical practice, about 610 lovely children and an engaged and professional staff.

About the job

As principal you are the leader of Søndervangskolen and the bearer of the school's culture. You will lead the school's leadership team, which consists of the SFO and primary school lead, middle school lead and the vice- and upper secondary lead. You must be able to lead leaders and support the pedagogical leaders in working with your shared direction in their respective departments. In the leadership team you will encounter a wealth of experience, openness, curiosity, willingness to cooperate and an informal and humorous atmosphere.

You will have the overall strategic, administrative, financial and personnel responsibility and the overall academic/pedagogical responsibility for a school divided into three departments. You naturally see yourself as part of a politically led organization and engage in active collaboration with other leaders, the school system and partners in the local area.

Søndervangskolen's profile is closeness, innovation and a global outlook, and the school marks itself, among other things, by being a modern school with up-to-date facilities and equipment as well as good outdoor areas.

We are looking for a school leader who

• has a relevant educational background and in-depth knowledge of the public school system
• has a leadership qualification and experience with leadership – preferably also with leading other leaders
• has experience with financial management in connection with school operations
• is empathetic, listens well and easily sees different perspectives
• is open, engaged and strongly focused on creating frameworks for good teaching
• is calm, decisive and clear – and maintains an overview, also in pressured situations
• has good communication skills, both oral and written, humor and a positive mindset.
