About the job

At Jetsmark School we are seeking an engaged, acknowledging and professionally skilled teacher who is passionate about teaching mathematics, biology, geography and physics/chemistry.

We are looking for a teacher

  • with a strong academic profile, who is clear and relational in their teaching, both academically and in wellbeing work.
  • who can create a teaching environment that inspires and motivates students through clear classroom management.
  • who is self-assured and strong in their subject knowledge and teaching profession – and who reflects on and adjusts their practice to the pupils in the class.
  • with an inclusive pedagogical-didactic approach
  • who contributes to professional teamwork, where we support each other in daily work through sparring and knowledge – seeing teamwork as essential to succeeding with the core task
  • who contributes to collaboration and solutions, so that "no one should be left alone with a pedagogical task"
  • who looks beyond behavior – and can see themselves in our child-centered view; "all children do well if they can", and that "all children are our children"

We are exactly looking for you, who show that you want the children and can be independent in collaboration with team colleagues and parents – and precisely you who sees value in being part of and contributing to a professional and social community.

Can you see yourself in the below? If so, we look forward to welcoming you to Jetsmark School.

Who are we?

Jetsmark School is a school with two sites. Our primary school is located at Jetsmark Kirkevej 5, while the special department is located a good kilometer away.

The special department is the Jammerbugt municipality’s offering to pupils with significant learning difficulties. In the school part we have children from 0nd to 10th grade, while we offer SFO to children from 0th to 7th grade.

In the mainstream department the students are divided daily into house A+B (0-3 years), house C (4-6 grades) and house D (7-9 grades). The teachers are attached to either phase 1 (1st-5th grade) or phase 2 (6th-9th grade), but may teach in both phases.

With you as a future colleague you will be attached to phase 2.

  • and what can you expect from us?

At Jetsmark School we work on the principle that academic excellence and wellbeing go hand in hand. A school life based on the students, a positive view of children, and that the relationship is the cornerstone of all development for us.

We are willing to take unconventional routes for our children to succeed personally, academically and socially. We also expect you to be prepared to do so.

We place a high value on teamwork, and we believe that the close professionals have the competence and the relationship and the responsibility for the good school life for all our children.

The goal is to create the best possible framework and opportunities for all children to become as competent and capable as they can be – academically, personally and socially.

We believe that good and constructive collaboration with the parents is the best starting point for succeeding with our core task. We enter into that collaboration with a professional and positive approach, where we listen to the parents' perspective while also standing solid in our professionalism and the approach that the community is the framework for the individual wellbeing and learning.

We offer

  • A workplace where teamwork is given high priority – a professional community that values professional sparring and collaboration
  • A workplace with individually defined but with great respect for the work community and the shared core task
  • A good onboarding process for you, so you are welcomed well with us
  • Good colleagues who value social community highly
  • Good opportunities for you to test your initiatives and new ideas

Your profile

  • You are a trained teacher and attach your diploma as an attachment to the application
  • You are passionate about creating good conditions for teaching with a focus on relational competence and classroom management
  • You WILL our students
  • You have strong relational skills and can apply them in a close, binding professional community where positive expectations of "the whole child" are central.
  • You can recognize other people's resources – both in colleagues, our children and their parents
  • You know that sometimes you need to go "off the beaten path" to find the right path for the individual child
  • You know that the effort for the individual child requires a focus on the strengths of the community – and that children learn and develop by participating in social and academic communities
  • You are a curious, persistent and wondering sparring partner for your colleagues as well as management and external partners
  • As a colleague you spread good energy, pursue dialogue and have a clear and appreciative communication style – and you have the courage to disagree constructively
