Climate change and security of supply are placing new demands, and at the same time economic regulation requires us to be efficient. Therefore, the area of Water & Urban Development at HOFOR is undergoing a transformation to increase our ability to create long-term value through high expertise, efficient task execution and close cross-disciplinary collaboration.

This means that we must work in new ways, expand cross-disciplinary collaboration and ensure greater efficiency as well as better management of time and finances in our construction projects.

As part of the transformation, we have implemented an organizational change and established several new sections. We are therefore now seeking a number of section leaders who will help translate the goals into results.

Urban Development, Strategy and Collaboration

At HOFOR we are looking for a section lead for Urban Development Surroundings. You will be responsible for a new section with specialists, urban planners and project managers who work at the intersection of urban development, strategy and collaboration with municipalities and other stakeholders. Together you will develop solutions that support sustainable development of the urban areas around Copenhagen.

Lead an interdisciplinary team and create value in urban development

As a section lead you will be responsible for 10-12 employees who work with HOFOR's efforts in some of the surrounding municipalities' largest urban development areas, including Future Brøndby, Hersted Industrial Park and the Business District in Herlev.

You will play a central role in translating strategic goals into concrete initiatives and ensuring that HOFOR's supply solutions support and create value in urban development. At the same time, you will become an important partner for both municipalities and colleagues across HOFOR.

Your main tasks will be to

• Lead, develop and support the section's employees
• Develop and maintain close collaboration with HOFOR's owner municipalities
• Ensure cross-cutting coordination and collaboration across the organization
• Translate strategies into concrete initiatives and work processes
• Ensure progress, quality, economy and target achievement in the project portfolio
• Organize decision-making processes and contribute to the continued development of HOFOR's role in urban development

You create direction and build good relationships

We envision that you are an experienced leader who thrives in a complex stakeholder landscape. You are strategically minded, but also pragmatic and action-oriented when plans must be turned into action. At the same time, you understand the interaction between municipalities, utilities and urban development actors, and you see value in creating solutions through dialogue and collaboration.

We expect that you

• Have a relevant advanced education in areas such as urban planning, geography, political science or similar
• Have at least 3-5 years of experience with people management
• Have experience with stakeholder management as well as project and portfolio governance
• Have solid written and verbal communication skills
• Have knowledge of urban development, planning processes or political processes

Experience from a politically governed organization is an advantage, but not a requirement. Familiarity with the utility sector is also not a prerequisite. The most important is that you are motivated to develop collaborations across boundaries, achieve results through others and navigate a complex agenda.

The section is one of three sections in the Urban Development area, where you will become part of a dedicated leadership community characterized by collaboration, development and shared responsibility. As a section lead you will have the opportunity to set the direction for both the section and HOFOR's collaboration with external partners.
