Apply for the position

Are you passionate about leading industrial environment projects? Become a Senior Project Manager or Senior Specialist at Sweco and make a difference together with a dedicated team!

At Sweco we work holistically with all environmental aspects. In the environment and industrial environment team we work with everything from environmental permits and reviews regarding discharge and connection of wastewater, environmental assessments (EIA), risk facilities, assessment of air/odor pollution (OML), environmental screenings, waste management, environmental and waste inspections, mapping of Pollutants in building materials and indoor air in buildings.

In addition, we work with § 8- and 19-applications regarding soil and groundwater contamination and a wide range of other exciting tasks within the environmental spectrum.

We advise both private customers and authorities. This means that we have extensive knowledge of the requirements and needs on both sides of the table. We also have many large manufacturing companies as regular customers, where we function as resource persons in the environmental area. Other existing customers include the Armed Forces as well as various utility companies, municipalities, agencies, regions, and large and small private customers.

The majority of the industrial environment team sits in Aarhus, and we therefore primarily seek to fill positions at the Aarhus office. However, we are open to other locations if we find the right profile, so do not hesitate to apply if you are based in, for example, Aalborg or Copenhagen.

About the position

In the role as a senior project manager or senior specialist you will play a central role in the team. Your main tasks will include:

  • Project management and governance of small and large industrial environment projects.
  • Specialist input to large multidisciplinary projects, e.g. environmental impact assessments
  • Involvement, development and training of colleagues with shorter seniority in project work and the legal framework. Including knowledge sharing and responsibility for an internal network group.
  • Task solving in close cooperation with other departments and disciplines.
  • Handling of commercial interests.
  • Management and entering into contracts, including clarification of ongoing and upcoming tasks as well as coordination with and leadership of industrial environment specialists.

At Sweco, industrial environment is part of the Department of Environment, Nature and Sustainability, which is an department of about 120 employees across the country. We focus on cross-disciplinary collaboration and whole solutions both within the department and across geography and Sweco’s other divisions. You can therefore expect to be involved in projects across the country and have Sweco as a back office and knowledge base.

About you

We are looking for a project manager or specialist with solid experience, preferably at least 10 years, who is engaged, has in-depth professional expertise and is able to motivate and lead cross-disciplinary project teams. We also expect you to possess strong abilities to communicate with both authorities and companies, coordinate, build external and internal relationships, and stay calm and maintain a positive atmosphere. In addition, we envisage that you:

  • Are educated as an engineer, biologist, geologist or similar
  • Have solid experience (preferably over 10 years) within the field. Including core competencies in one or more of the following areas: environmental permits and reviews, risk facilities, environmental impact assessments and EIA screenings, air/odor pollution, discharge and connection of wastewater, BREF/BAT and cleaner technology.
  • Have experience in the consulting industry but also preferably experience from a municipality/agency.
