About the job

Skilled negotiating consultant for the Collective Bargaining Team at the Danish Association of Social Workers

Do you want to help secure proper terms of employment for the country's social workers? And are you passionate about collective agreements and securing solid results for members at the negotiation table, then you may be exactly the person we are looking for.

The Danish Association of Social Workers (DS) is an ambitious union established to secure good pay and working conditions for social workers. Our collective agreements are the backbone of that work – applicable to both the public and private sectors.

Responsibilities

We are seeking a skilled consultant who already has relevant experience with collective agreements, labor law or negotiations. You do not need many years of experience, but you must be willing to quickly take responsibility and develop professionally in collaboration with experienced colleagues. In particular, it is important that you are analytically strong and can perform calculations that can be translated at the negotiation table.

You will become part of a small, specialized team, which besides this position consists of a negotiation leader (the team’s professional leader) and a negotiation consultant. In addition, you will be part of the salary and employment team with a further three legal consultants.

The responsibilities consist of

  • Advising and servicing DS policymakers in collective bargaining and labor law matters
  • Preparation, planning and negotiation of the public-sector collective agreements and nationwide private sector agreements
  • Negotiation of disputes and level/grade cases
  • Sparring, advising and servicing of consultant colleagues in DS in difficult cases regarding pay, collective agreements, employee influence etc. within the municipal, regional, state and private employment sectors.

We envision that you

  • Have an advanced degree, e.g., cand.jur., cand.merc., cand.scient.pol. or similar
  • Have gained relevant experience with collective agreements, labor law and negotiation
  • Have experience from a professional organization, public authority or similar
  • Thrive in working analytically and using numbers and calculations as the basis for decisions
  • Can work independently and in a structured manner in both shorter tasks and longer processes
  • Are a strong verbal and written communicator

And it is important to us that you share values with the Danish Association of Social Workers, that you have a good sense of humor, take initiative and responsibility and that you want to contribute to developing our area of work and the workplace. About the workplace

The Department of Policy, Collective Bargaining and Communication is part of DS’s Shared Administration, which consists of a total of four nationwide departments. You will report to the Head of Department for Policy, Collective Bargaining and Communication, Stine Brix. The position is based at Toldbodgade in central Copenhagen. In Toldbodgade you will have about 40 colleagues, and a further about 35 colleagues distributed across DS’s other locations.

We are an organization with many tasks, and we therefore work together across functions. We have a good and informal working environment where there is often little delay from idea to action, and where you from the start will work very independently and have your own areas of responsibility, but always with the opportunity for sparring with skilled colleagues. You will also work closely with the politically elected.

We offer flexible working hours and 2 additional collective-bargaining mandated days off. The position is 36 hours (full-time) and is desired to be filled by December 1, 2026. You will be employed under the collective agreement between DS and DJØF.

You can obtain further information about the position from the negotiating lead Charlotte Vinderslev, tel.: 2426 0334 and email: [email protected].

The application deadline is October 18, 2026 and we expect to hold interviews in weeks 43-44.

The Danish Association of Social Workers is a growing professional union with over 18,000 members. We work on social workers’ pay and working conditions and on developing the social work profession. We are a union for all social workers: employees and leaders, self-employed, students as well as social workers with an academic background. Read more about DS at www.socialraadgiverne.dk
