Skab aktive eftermiddage med en 12-årig dreng i Skanderborg

Do you want to work with children with special needs and have time to really get to know one child? In Skanderborg we are looking for someone who wants to be with a 12-year-old boy after school and create safe afternoons with movement, activities and presence.

About the task

Your task is to be with the boy when he comes home from school. A trip to the playground, the swings or time by the trampoline in the garden can be part of your afternoon. The boy enjoys moving and going on trips. At home he also loves movies and music on his iPad and exploring toys and objects. You take the initiative for activities based on his interests and give him space to thrive in his own company.

The boy has infantil autism and mild intellectual disability with a significant impact on behavior, also described as mild developmental delay. The order also specifies “other problems related to upbringing.”

He has very limited speech and needs you to communicate with short, precise sentences and picture symbols. He often says yes, even when he might be unsure. Therefore you must be attentive to his signals: hesitation or lack of answer can be his way of showing that he does not want to participate.

He is impulsive and needs you to keep a close eye on him both at home and on outings. You also help with personal care in the form of diaper changes.

About you

You are a pedagogue or unskilled, and you would like to work closely with a child who needs your attention and support. It is an advantage if you have experience with autism and developmental disability.

You can stay calm, give him time to respond and adapt your initiatives to his signals. At the same time you want an active role where you can keep up at the playground and be aware when he suddenly feels like moving on.

You are prepared to help with diaper changes and to build a secure relationship through your time together.

Working hours

The position is 6 hours per week, preferably spread over 1–2 afternoons after school.

You can start at 14:00 on Monday, Thursday and Friday. Tuesday and Wednesday the boy is home around 14:30. The concrete work days and end times are agreed.
