Center for Rehabilitation and Acute Care seeks an experienced and dedicated occupational therapist to hire 37 hours per week in the Acute Care department.

About us

We have a total of 30 beds and many skilled multidisciplinary staff. The citizens who come to us come for very different reasons, but the majority come directly from hospitals. Many have complex and chronic diseases, and a large part of the citizens require both acute care and intensive rehabilitation. When citizens come to us, we start by giving them exactly the care and rehabilitation they each need so they can recover as quickly as possible and regain lost skills or develop new strategies.

To succeed with such individually tailored care and treatment requires a high level of professionalism from everyone. It requires close collaboration both with citizens and their relatives and cross-disciplinary collaboration between social- and health-care assistants, nurses, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, doctors, hospitals, home care etc.

About you

You are an occupational therapist who enjoys a daily life where days are not the same, and you can prioritise your tasks in a busy everyday life. We expect you to be a reliable and engaged employee and contribute with your cross-disciplinary and mono-disciplinary expertise in the interdisciplinary team. It is preferable that you have experience with dysphagia, and you will be well trained so you feel well prepared for the task.

You are prepared to work on holidays and some weekends and participate in the department's teaching and development. You can expect to help in other departments in connection with illness, vacation, weekend and holidays.

In the job as occupational therapist with us you will experience that

• we have a strong focus on dysphagia assessments, dysphagia training and ADL assessments as well as training
• you as an occupational therapist do not perform personal care, but help with common tasks around the citizen and in the department
• you assess whether the citizen needs small aids that can support daily activities
• we offer various groups, including cognitive groups, managed by occupational therapists
• we have a focus on positioning and transfers of citizens
• there is opportunity for mono- and cross-disciplinary development
• we prioritise social events to strengthen the community
• we base on and work with the ICF model (International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health), and that together with clinical reasoning are central tools in everyday life
• you are involved in identifying the citizen's usual and current activity and participation level as well as goals
• the training you provide is often individual and targeted to the individual citizen
• we expect you to dare stand by your professional assessment, but also be willing to discuss cases objectively, professionally and calmly if others see things differently

You will receive a thorough introduction so you feel well prepared to take on the various tasks in the position.

Employment terms

Salary and employment terms are determined in accordance with qualifications and the applicable agreement between the municipality and the relevant professional organization.

The working hours are 37 hours per week. There will also be coverage of public holidays and weekend work. We wish to fill the position as soon as possible.

The place of employment is the Acute Care Unit, Vigerslevvej.
