About the job

Are you interested in how art and culture can play a role on the international stage? Do you want insight into planning state visits, working with bilateral culture agreements and at the same time support the Agency for Palaces and Cultural Properties' work in communicating current European and international culture funding opportunities?

Then it might be you we are looking for.

The Team for International Affairs is seeking an intern for communications and planning tasks in connection with Denmark's international cultural cooperation and the EU's culture program. The internship is in the spring of 2027.

About the tasks

As an intern you will come close to coordinating the agency's international activities. You will join the international team that works with Denmark's international cultural cooperation and with the European Commission's culture funding program, Creative Europe.

During your internship period you will particularly work on tasks such as

  • Preparation of communications material and execution of communications and web tasks on various platforms, including graphical tasks related to the team’s main tasks
  • Planning and delivery of events, seminars and visiting programs for Danish and international cultural actors and embassies
  • Analysis and development tasks, e.g., mapping stakeholders and audience analyses
  • General coordination and planning tasks

You will be responsible for your own tasks and processes and at the same time continuously assist the team. You will also assist with other tasks in the Unit for Public Education, Folk High Schools and International Cooperation, of which the international team is a part. There are therefore good opportunities for varied learning and competence development.

About you

You are pursuing a relevant higher education with a main focus on communications, culture or public administration. You are generally interested in art, culture and international cultural exchange, and you want to develop your skills in dissemination, communication, project planning and public administration.

We emphasize that you

  • Write fluent and error-free texts and can adapt the tone to different communication channels
  • Can communicate fluently in Danish and English both orally and in writing
  • Can work independently and in a structured way — and seize opportunities as they arise
  • Are service-oriented and good at working with others
  • Have some knowledge of the Danish cultural scene
  • It is an advantage, but not a requirement, that you have an understanding of building websites

Internship terms and application

Your daily work will be in the Unit for Public Education, Folk High Schools and International Cooperation, Agency for Palaces and Cultural Properties, Hammerichgade 14, 1611 København V. In addition, there may be activities outside the office in both Copenhagen and the rest of the country.

The internship period is from 1 February 2027 or as agreed. We have good experience with interns being with us full-time or close to it, but we are open regarding hours and accommodating to requirements set by your educational institution. However, the program must last at least 4 months. We hope for an intern with an understanding of the nature of the work, who to a lesser extent will also have work outside normal office hours.

Please indicate in your application which requirements of your study program apply to your internship (duration of the period, number of hours, etc.).

No salary is paid for the internship. You will be assigned a fixed supervisor for the entire period.

Please send your application (max one A4 page), CV and other relevant attachments marked "INTERNSHIP" no later than 20 November 2026.

Interviews will be held immediately after the application deadline.
