About the job

At Othello Care Home you get more than a job. You get a daily life where your professionalism, your engagement and your way of meeting people have a direct impact on the residents' quality of life.

We are looking for you who want to help create safety, presence and good everyday life for our residents.

You who take responsibility, actively contribute to the professional community and thrive with a workday where tasks vary and where collaboration is crucial.

We work so that our residents have a good and meaningful life. Good care is an important part of that, but presence, relationships, co-determination and joy of life are at least as important. We need your help with that.

We are looking for social and health care helpers and social and health care assistants for permanent positions. The positions are primarily day shifts, and you work every second weekend.

Who are we?

You will become part of a strong cross-disciplinary team consisting of social and health care assistants, social and health care helpers, a nurse, unskilled workers, trainees, activity and training staff, planners and a manager. We share the task and work closely together to create coherence and quality in the residents' everyday life.

You will have a fixed base on one of our floors, where you will have the opportunity to get to know both residents and colleagues well, but we help each other across the house when needed – because we are one house, for us and for the residents.

With us, high professional standards and quality go hand in hand with job satisfaction, humor and a good laugh in daily life. We are in the middle of an exciting cultural change, where we together create the workplace of the future. Therefore we are looking for engaged colleagues who want to bring their competencies and perspectives into play and become part of a strong community with skilled and dedicated colleagues.

What will you do?

Your tasks depend on whether you are a social and health care helper or a social and health care assistant. Common to the positions is that you play an important role in creating safety, continuity and quality of life for the residents, just as you can expect a good and safe introduction to Othello, the residents and the tasks.

You will, among other things,

  • assist with personal care and support
  • perform nursing-technical tasks in collaboration with the nurse
  • participate in the daily triage meetings
  • document in Nexus
  • participate in relevant professional meetings
  • collaborate with colleagues across professional groups
  • create a good everyday life with both planned activities and spontaneous initiatives.

A larger activity can make a difference. A cup of coffee, a good conversation or knowledge of the residents' habits and wishes can also make a difference. You help to see the person behind the needs and translate your professionalism into care that makes sense for the individual resident.

What do you get with us?

With us you get a workplace where you are welcomed and where you are not expected to know everything from day one. A workplace where joy of life among residents is a big part, but your own wellbeing as an employee is also in focus. We collect positive and happy, skilled employees.

You get

  • a thorough and safe introduction
  • close collaboration with engaged colleagues across disciplines
  • opportunity to use and develop your professional skills
  • focus on job satisfaction, wellbeing and a strong sense of community
  • opportunity for competence development
  • colleagues and leaders who support you and take your professional skills seriously
  • a workplace in development where your ideas and perspectives count
  • a daily life with both responsibility, variety and opportunity to make a concrete difference.

We do not promise that every day will be perfect – but we promise that we stand together when days are busy, or when a task requires extra sparring.

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for you who

  • are educated as a social- and health care helper or a social- and health care assistant
  • meet residents, colleagues and partners with respect and a positive attitude
  • collaborate constructively, also when the pace is high
  • actively use your professional skills while being open to others' perspectives
  • have an eye for residents' wishes, resources and quality of life
  • take responsibility for your tasks and show up reliably
  • are curious about new tasks, methods and solutions
  • have knowledge of KMD Nexus (an advantage)
  • thrive with development and change
  • have valid work and residence permission in Denmark.

We emphasize that you can work independently and actively join in the team. You must want to contribute to the community and help create a workplace where we help each other and learn together.

Our recruitment process

We do the recruitment process a little differently because we believe it is just as important that you get to know us as that we get to know you.

First interview takes place on one of our floors, where you are welcomed by a staff member. Here you get a tour and an insight into daily life at Othello as a workplace. The interview is informal and gives both you and the staff member the opportunity to ask questions and feel whether we are the right match for each other.

Second interview takes place with the participation of the manager and staff. Here you have the opportunity to elaborate on your application, your experiences and your professional competencies through a more traditional job interview format.

We hire not only based on a CV. For us, it is important to find a colleague who thrives in the community, shares our values and wants to be part of everyday life with the residents.
