Social pedagogue with an interest in welfare technology sought

We are seeking a social pedagogue for our activity and social interaction offering, the “IKT line,” as soon as possible or no later than February 1, 2027. IKT stands for information and communication technology. At the IKT line, four residents currently participate, most of whom have no verbal speech and therefore use digital assistive devices (iPad) to communicate.

About the position

The residents at the IKT line have a certain level of cognitive functioning but physical disabilities. Therefore we have a strong focus on welfare technology, which can help give each resident a more independent life. You will help ensure that the residents can develop and have their professional and social skills supported through the welfare technology possibilities.

The residents use their particular forms of communication to perform tasks such as producing videos, giving presentations, and testing welfare technology. You will help give the residents an employment identity where it becomes natural for them to participate actively in everyday life. We work very project‑oriented and engage with various topics that create value and new opportunities for the residents. You will work in a cross‑functional team with three other colleagues.

Individual learning pathways

At the Job, Activity and Competence Center (JAC), of which the IKT line is a part, we believe that everyone can learn new things and develop. Our starting point is that all residents should have the opportunity to develop their competencies based on the zone of proximal development. All residents have an individually tailored learning pathway based on their competencies, wishes and needs. You will help plan and implement the learning pathways and participate in the pedagogical work.

We document using SensumOne, supplemented by our own documentation tools. All residents have individual goals that are supported by the daily activities.

About you

• You have an educational background in pedagogy or similar and can apply your pedagogical knowledge, but you can also be open and learn from other professional perspectives
• It is not a requirement that you are an IT “whiz,” but we expect you to support the residents’ use of their speech devices and motivate them to, for example, engage in social interactions
• You are patient and thrive when residents’ communication takes the time it takes
• You can teach and meet the residents with recognition and good humor
• You are willing to work with personal care, as all residents use wheelchairs and require assistance.

Salary and terms of employment

The position is 27 hours per week with the possibility of up to 37 hours. The position is paid according to the collective agreement for social pedagogues. It is part of Gentofte Municipality’s personnel policy that an enhanced criminal record certificate must be obtained upon hire.
