About the job

Are you passionate about helping activity-ready welfare recipients back into the labor market?

As one of our skilled social workers has chosen to step away from the labor market, we are looking for a competent social worker to handle cases for citizens over 30 who receive welfare and are assessed as activity-ready. That is, citizens with problems beyond unemployment. These can be physical, mental and/or social problems and are often a combination of these.

If you are motivated by achieving results through close collaboration with citizens who are further from the labor market, you might be our new social worker for the welfare area at Brøndby Employment Center.

What your everyday life will look like

As our new colleague in the welfare area, you have both the desire and flair to perform the authority role in welfare cases. Here, some of the central tasks will be to hold individual conversations based on a fixed method, make decisions, initiate offers, and ensure progression in the citizen's process. This includes a focus on paid hours, internships and/or a combination of internships and paid hours.

In addition, you will handle case processing for citizens who are subject to the obligation to work, and you must ensure that citizens covered by this scheme are in continuous and meaningful activity directed at the workplace. You will also be responsible for ensuring the citizen's annual right to clarification (the clarification rights).

You must also be conscious of bringing the cross-disciplinary approach into play, with both internal and external colleagues – always with the aim of the citizen returning to the labor market as quickly as possible and preferably in the form of paid hours. This could, for example, involve collaboration with general practitioners, psychiatry, the area of substance abuse, etc.

In addition, you should enjoy handling the administrative tasks that come with the position, as well as possessing good communication skills in both written and spoken forms.

We focus on dialogue and collaboration as well as an efficient and results-oriented effort. We believe in the citizen and the citizen's possibilities in the labor market through job-oriented conversations from day one.

Your tasks will include, among others

  • You are responsible for your own caseload of citizens who receive welfare
  • Employment-oriented conversations based on a fixed method and template
  • Employment-oriented motivational work for citizens who receive welfare
  • Conduct CV interviews and ABC plans
  • You are responsible for ensuring that citizens who are subject to the work obligation are engaged in meaningful and job-oriented activity
  • You are responsible for ensuring the citizen's annual clarification right
  • You conduct follow-up conversations with clear job goals and plans
  • You have close collaboration with both internal and external partners
  • Preparation of cases for meetings in the flexi-job and early retirement board prior to recommendation for flexi-job and early retirement
  • Preparation of cases for meetings in the flexi-job and early retirement board prior to the citizen's application for early retirement on the basis of the applicable law, i.e. after the Social Pension Act § 17

About you

As a person you are empathetic, systematic and structured, and as a colleague you contribute to the professional and social community. We place high value on humor, well-being and job satisfaction. Our starting point is our professional work and our shared core task.

We expect you to be curious about your own and others' professional starting points, and we emphasize having an active sparring- and learning- and feedback culture, both with your own department but also with the municipality's other administrations.

Furthermore, we envision that you

  • Are educated social worker or mediator, or have relevant experience from a jobcenter setting.
  • Have good collaboration skills and can motivate citizens and colleagues.
  • Are ambitious, solution- and results-oriented.
  • Are skilled in conversational techniques and writing with a focus on progression, action and legal protections.
  • Thrive in a busy environment and can maintain an overview.
  • Have solid experience with IT and high data discipline.
