About the job
We are strengthening our consolidated efforts in UBF.
Do you have solid experience with vulnerable and placed children and youths, and do you have in-depth knowledge of working with complex social-educational cases? Are you structured, professionally well-founded and good at creating an overview and coherence in complex processes? If so, you might be our new social worker in UBF.
About UBF
The Development Center for Children and Families (UBF) is part of Næstved Municipality's overall special provision for particularly vulnerable children and youths.
UBF consists of: Children and Youth Homes: Elvergården, Ladbyhus, the Children and Family Homes and the School by the Stream. In addition, House for Children and Families and Family Foster Care. We are an organization with different professional disciplines that work closely together to create development, well-being and better opportunities for children, youths and families in vulnerable positions. UBF is licensed for 58 residential places.
UBF's target groups are children, youths and families with complex needs. Our professional foundation is a psychodynamic framework with mentalization-based environmental therapy as a central part of the practice.
The position
At the Development Center for Children and Families (UBF), we work with children, youths and families who need a specialized intervention. We base our work on each child's needs, well-being and development opportunities and collaborate across professional disciplines to create coherent and targeted pathways.
We are seeking a social worker who can handle concrete social-educational tasks and contribute to quality and coherence in the work around the children, the youths and their families. A substantial part of the work involves documentation, status reports and follow-up on treatment courses. In some cases there will also be opportunities to participate in concrete parent-, child- and family-oriented interventions.
You will become part of a professional community with UBF's other social worker and psychologist. You will play a central role in collaboration with department heads, other professionals and authority advisers, where you will contribute to shared professional assessments and ensure that relevant observations, goals and interventions are followed up systematically. A significant part of the position is tied to the social-educational work in the Children and Family Homes Lunden, Kæret and Kilden.
Your primary tasks
You will have a varied daily life, where you must be able to work independently on concrete tasks and actively participate in cross-disciplinary collaboration. You must coordinate and follow up on the children’s, the youths’ and the families’ pathways and prepare status reports, professional descriptions and other relevant social-educational documentation.
A central task will be to lead, coordinate and follow up on the treatment conferences On Track in collaboration with the psychologist and the department heads. Here you will help ensure that professional perspectives are gathered, treatment goals are clarified, and agreements are translated into concrete actions in the further work.
You will also handle social-educational tasks in the Children and Family Homes Lunden, Kæret and Kilden in close collaboration with the department heads and other professionals. This includes collaboration with authority advisers about goals, interventions and follow-up in complex cases, as well as coordination and professional sparring with UBF's other social worker. You will contribute to ensuring clear communication and a shared understanding of the child’s and family’s situation across the involved parties.
It is a requirement that you
- Are a qualified social worker with documented experience in social-educational work with vulnerable and placed children and youths, including complex cases and parent-child stays.
- Have experience from a children’s and youth home or a similar organization, where you have handled coordinating and social-educational tasks in close collaboration with management, treatment staff and authority advisers.
- Have theoretical and practical knowledge of family-therapy interventions, preferably with experience in mentalization-based programs.
- Have experience with professional documentation, including status reports and social-educational assessments, as well as coordinating cross-disciplinary processes, professional meetings and systematic follow-up on goals and interventions.
- Can navigate the cooperation between implementer and authorities, work independently and in a structured manner, and maintain an overview in complex pathways.
- Have strong relational and communication skills and can collaborate professionally with children, parents, colleagues, managers and external partners.
- Can participate in a daily life that requires a high degree of physical presence in UBF and in the Children and Family Homes Lunden, Kæret and Kilden, as the tasks require close dialogue, coordination and ongoing collaboration with staff and management.
In summary
You are a professionally grounded social worker who thrives on responsibility and can work independently and proactively in a daily life with many different tasks and collaboration interfaces.
You have an eye for both the whole and the details and can translate your social-educational knowledge into concrete actions that support the quality of work around children and families.
You are curious about others’ professional perspectives, contribute constructively to shared reflection and development, and can build trustful relationships through clear, respectful and professional communication. You have a flexible approach to tasks and are motivated to be an active part of a common professional environment where collaboration, coordination and professional quality go hand in hand.
