Do you have experience with adults with complex mental health challenges, and can you create calm, safety and structure in a daily life where needs can change quickly?

SocialNetværket is looking for professionally strong staff for an individual support assignment concerning an adult citizen on Langeland. We are seeking staff for both day shifts and night shifts.

About the assignment

The task concerns an adult man with a significant mental functional impairment and complex psychiatric challenges. He requires individually tailored social-pedagogical support and the presence of staff around the clock.

The citizen can, in periods, experience pronounced mistrust and have difficulty accepting support. His condition can change rapidly, and there can be verbal threats and outwardly directed behavior. This requires that you can remain calm, adapt your approach, and work preventively and in a de-escalating manner.

A central part of the assignment is to build a trusting relationship and explore how the citizen best can receive support. At the same time, the effort should help clarify his functional level and future support needs.

You must be able to balance presence and initiative with respect for the citizen's need for distance, autonomy, and dignity.

Your tasks

• Create calm, safety and recognizability through a clear and respectful approach.
• Build and maintain a relationship on the citizen's terms.
• Support and motivate the citizen in everyday practical tasks and self-care with a focus on helping self-help.
• Observe changes in the citizen's mental state and adjust the support accordingly.
• Prevent and handle conflicts through a calm and de-escalating approach.
• Investigate and document when the citizen seeks support himself, and when there is a need for outreach efforts.
• Document professionally and concretely and contribute to a description of the citizen's resources and support needs.
• Engage in collaboration with colleagues, the existing residential facility, and relevant partners.

During the night shifts, the focus is on safety, observation, and support when the citizen needs it. Medication management is handled by the existing residential facility and is not part of this support assignment.

We are looking for you who

• Have a relevant social or health care education, for example pedagogue, social and health assistant, or equivalent.
• Have experience with adult psychiatry and citizens with complex support needs.
• Can work professionally and calmly with mistrust, rejection, threats, and outwardly directed behavior.
• Are patient, persistent, and aware that relationship-building can take time.
• Can work independently and follow shared professional agreements and approaches.
• Are strong in written documentation and can distinguish between observations and professional assessments.
• Seek sparring and contribute to a close and responsible collaboration.

Experience with clarifying and observational efforts is an advantage.

Employment and working hours

The workplace is on Langeland, and the assignment is covered with long day and night shifts.

You must therefore be prepared for the duration and content of the assignment to change.

Start date and terms are agreed individually.
