About the job
Would you like to help ensure a well-functioning digital infrastructure and the continued development of the telecom area? Do you have a flair for leadership and the desire to lead a professionally strong team? Then the position as deputy head in the Office for Telecommunication might be something for you.
Office for Telecommunication
The Danish telecom infrastructure is a fundamental condition for a well-functioning digital society. In the Office for Telecommunication we work to create the best framework for the digital telecom infrastructure through, among other things, regulation and performance of regulatory tasks. We prioritise close dialogue with companies, authorities and other stakeholders about ongoing operations and development in the area.
The Office for Telecommunication consists of about 50 technically strong employees distributed across six teams. As deputy head you will have direct personnel responsibility for about 10 employees in Team Frequency Allocation and Supervision. The team handles a number of central regulatory tasks in the frequency area. These include issuing frequency licenses, collecting frequency charges and guiding companies, authorities and citizens on the use of frequencies.
We also supervise under the Frequency and Radio Equipment Act, including frequency disturbances and compliance with rules and terms. The team also contributes to international cooperation in the frequency area.
Your tasks
As our new deputy head you will, together with the two office heads, constitute the daily management of the office, and you will play an important role in collaboration across the office and with other offices in the agency and the ministry. Additionally, you will be part of the Digitalisation Agency's overall management circle.
The tasks are broad, and you will, among other things, have responsibility for
- personnel leadership and professional development of employees with different educational backgrounds
- operations of supervision and license issuance
- budget management and strategic development across the office
- collaboration with companies, citizens, other authorities and other stakeholders
About you
We are looking for a deputy head who can set the direction for a team of professionally skilled and experienced employees. You have an academic background, and it is important that you want to become the head of an operating area. It is not necessary, but an advantage, if you have experience with case handling and budget management as well as an understanding of legal issues. You do not need to be a specialist in the frequency area, but you should have the desire and ability to familiarise yourself with a complex field where technical, legal and administrative issues go hand in hand.
Concretely, we emphasize that you
- have experience with and are motivated by personnel leadership and have an eye for employees’ wellbeing, development and professionalism
- have strong analytical skills and can understand complex technical and legal issues
- have an understanding of the authority role and preferably experience from a politically governed organisation
- are process-oriented and can maintain and expand strong collaborative relationships both internally and externally
- thrive in a daily life where both ongoing operations and new strategic issues require leadership attention
In the Digitalisation Agency we continuously focus on wellbeing and development for all our managers and employees. It is therefore crucial that you as a person contribute to a trust-based and informal working environment. You will become part of a dynamic organisation where, as deputy head, you have an important role in the ongoing development of the employees. Our daily work is busy and characterised by complex, yet interesting tasks and many collaborative interfaces.
