About the job

Strong professional specialization, clear leadership and cross-cutting alignment

Do you want to lead a clinically complex area where solid authority practice, specialized knowledge and cross-professional solutions must go hand in hand? We are seeking a chief of a special field who will be responsible for the special teams and the school teams and become a central part of the Family Counseling's new leadership organization.

About the task

As the head of a special field you will be the immediate supervisor of the staff in the special teams and school teams. You will have both professional and personnel responsibility and must create a clear professional direction in an area of high complexity, significant due process requirements and close interaction with other parts of the municipality.

You will, together with the head of Family Counseling, the social professional leader and the professional coordinators, ensure consistent, lawful and timely authority practice. At the same time you will help develop cooperation between the specialized area, the general area and the other initiatives around children, youth and families.

Your most important management tasks

  • have professional and personnel responsibility for the special teams and school teams
  • set a clear professional direction and systematically follow up on quality, due process, timeliness and consistent practice
  • ensure high quality in target group assessments, decisions and follow-up in the specialty area
  • actively work with wellbeing, development and retention
  • conduct performance interviews (MUS), welfare conversations and other personnel management tasks
  • actively use professional coordinators, specialist advice and relevant data in professional leadership
  • contribute to financial responsibility and consider the professional and financial consequences of decisions in the specialty area
  • strengthen interaction between authority, school, day care, service delivery area and other relevant partners
  • participate in the on-call duty for the internal social duty roster outside normal working hours.

We are looking for you who

  • are educated social worker and have solid experience from the authority area for children, young people and families – preferably from the specialized area
  • have leadership experience or a clearly documented leadership profile and preferably a leadership education at diploma level; alternatively you are expected to be open to relevant upskilling
  • have strong social-professional judgement and a solid knowledge of the Children’s Act
  • have in-depth knowledge of target group assessments and disability compensation benefits and are up to date on current principal rulings and practice
  • can translate complex legislation and professional standards into clear and consistent practice
  • work systematically and can balance quality, economy, capacity and work environment
  • create follower-ship through presence, clarity, involvement and persistent follow-up
  • can bridge the gap between the specialized area and the general area and see cross-professional collaboration as part of the core task.

As a person

You thrive in complexity without making things more complicated than necessary. You are professionally curious and analytical, but also relationally strong and approachable in daily life. You can create calm and direction when different considerations are at play, and you dare to make decisions and follow them through.

We offer

You will become part of a close leadership community with the head of Family Counseling, the social professional leader and the professional coordinators. You gain real opportunity to shape the new organization and the development of the specialty area in a department with high ambitions for both professional quality and the working environment. We have an open and informal tone and value a leadership community where we can disagree professionally, make joint decisions and help each other succeed.
