About the job

Are you curious by nature, do you thrive in strong communities, and are you motivated by creating the best pathways together with children, young people, families and colleagues?

With us you become part of an engaged and professionally strong team, where we every day collaborate to make a noticeable difference for children, young people and their families. We believe that the best nursing is created in fellowship when we bring our different perspectives and competencies into play, share knowledge and learn from each other.

Pediatrics is a specialty with a wealth of development opportunities and the chance for lifelong learning. Here you will meet a broad variation of patient pathways and problems because the specialty encompasses many other specialties – but with children and young people at the centre.

A everyday life characterized by collaboration and relationships

In our inpatient ward, children and young people who need treatment and care over several days are admitted. This provides an opportunity to build close relationships with both patients and families and to follow them through larger parts of their process.

We have a regional function for children and young people with IBD and also treat patients with, among other things, respiratory, nephro-urological, neurological, infectious and orthopedic-surgical issues.

Collaboration with the family is a natural and important part of daily life. Communication, coordination, counseling and guidance are therefore central competencies in the work, as is the ability to see situations from multiple perspectives and find solutions together with both colleagues and families.

A work environment with room for professional curiosity

With us you are never alone. We prioritise shared reflection, knowledge sharing and interdisciplinary collaboration highly, because we know that it strengthens both professionalism and job satisfaction.

You will become part of a department with

  • Regular cross-disciplinary board meetings.
  • Weekly nursing professional teaching.
  • Interdisciplinary conferences across the department's subspecialties.
  • Debriefing and supervision for complex or particularly demanding patient trajectories.
  • Mandatory team training in reception and detection of critically ill children and young people.

In teaching and training we work purposefully with communication, collaboration and the latest knowledge within pediatrics. We see learning as something we create together.

  • A versatile specialty within acute and general pediatrics.
  • A thorough introduction over two months tailored to your experience and competencies.
  • Ongoing competency development, teaching and professional sparring.
  • Possibility to influence the development of pediatric nursing in the department.

Who are you?

We imagine that you

  • Are curious and interested in learning new things and developing professionally.
  • Meet children, young people, families and colleagues with openness, presence and respect.
  • See value in different professional perspectives and actively contribute to dialogue and reflection.
  • Thrive in an environment where collaboration and shared solutions are essential to the quality of patient pathways.
  • Have good communication skills and build trusting relationships across ages and professional groups.
  • Can work independently and take responsibility, while actively seeking sparring and contributing to the community.
  • Thrives in a changing everyday life with both busy and calm periods.
  • Contributes to a safe, positive and well-functioning work environment.
  • Takes responsibility for own learning and sees competence development as a natural part of your working life.

Pediatric experience is an advantage but not a prerequisite. The most important thing is your desire to learn, collaborate and develop with us.

Salary and employment terms
