About the job

Steno Diabetes Center Copenhagen is seeking a nurse in the Type 1 team

As we are undergoing a generational shift in the team, we are looking for a nurse as of 1.1.27 or by agreement, who would like to become part of our strong and dedicated type 1 team and contribute to shaping the future of diabetes treatment.

Steno Diabetes Center Copenhagen (SDCC) is one of the few centers globally that focuses solely on diabetes and that has research, education and health promotion closely connected with patient care. Therefore, we have many teaching and development activities across the units in our organization.

The Department of Diabetes Care is organized into teams: type 1 diabetes team, type 2 diabetes team, Children – and Youth team, as well as clinical specialist teams with the eye clinic, foot clinic and nutrition and exercise. We also have our own laboratory and clinical physiology. The interdisciplinary collaboration between doctors, clinical dietitians, patient coordinators, bioanalysts, researchers, etc. is prioritized and highly valued.

We are in the process of a transition to a more needs-driven patient pathway, where we are working with a new structure for how and how often we should see our users, and how we best support in between visits. The starting point for our consultations is: the user’s daily life and well-being, diabetes data and the use of diabetes technology and online communication.

We are in the Type 1 team

  • A group of professionally engaged nurses with many different competencies. Some have long experience, further education and a broad network within the specialty. Others contribute in the team with, for example, experience in another specialty such as psychiatry.
  • An department where nurses have many varying tasks such as: independent nursing consultations, both virtual and physical. Insulin treatment and adjustment, group programs for patients and a focus on mastering the disease course. In addition, nurses in the team handle our telephone advice, which is open 24/7, every day of the year.
  • An department where patient satisfaction is high and where both patients, relatives and staff must feel well treated
  • An department that has technological diabetes equipment in the form of glucose sensors and insulin pumps for our users as well as diabetes data to support the treatment.
  • An department that continuously contributes with relevant research both mono- and interdisciplinary.
  • An department with the possibility of supervision with a fixed attached psychologist

  • digitalization and nursing and an interest in technology in nursing
  • educating patients individually as well as in group
  • user involvement as a natural and necessary approach in patient care

At Steno Diabetes Center Copenhagen you get as a nurse a workday with varied tasks in an exciting and interdisciplinary inspiring environment, where we are ambitious and aim to provide the best treatment and care for people with diabetes. Therefore you must be willing to contribute to development and innovation as a natural part of your work life here at SDCC.
