Star Teacher for our group class for 6th grade

Now you can kick off the new year with a bang of an opportunity to become a star teacher at Lyngholmskolen in Farum. We are searching with a starry eye for a contact and Danish teacher for our F-class in the 6th grade.

F-class is a group-based class with 10 lovely students, who have a good social community with one another.

F-class is a provision for students with gifts within the normal range who have difficulties in language and reading. In addition, the students may have diagnoses and challenges related to attention, concentration and social interaction and thus require special educational interventions targeted at these. As part of the teaching, there are language-developing initiatives as well as compensatory and reading-development interventions.

A part of a strong community

F-class has two fixed contact teachers attached, and there will be a two-teacher system in all teaching hours. Together the two fixed contact teachers should cover as many of the class's subjects as possible; the rest will be supplemented by other good colleagues.

As a class team you work closely together on content, organization and development and are, like the class, a natural part of the school’s youth environment. F-class has rooms next to the large classes in the year group, and several subjects are scheduled in parallel in the timetable, which allows for collaboration across the big and small communities when appropriate.

We hold year-group team meetings every week.

Your competencies

It is not a requirement that you have a PhD in rocket science, but you must be a trained teacher with a major in Danish and have strong pedagogical competences.

The students need caring and present teachers who can create the security cushion in which their learning and development can flourish. It is essential that you can build strong relationships with the students and among the students, and that you can be curious about their experiences at school and incorporate their perspectives into your work.

It requires that you are good at mapping the students’ needs and prerequisites, and that you can help design and implement relevant pedagogical initiatives in the learning environments and communities. Our goal is to educate and form the students into capable young people who are ready for further education after Lyngholmskolen.

Shall we play?

At Lyngholmskolen we have a strong focus on playful and experimental approaches to learning and creative and motivating learning processes.

For the last three years we have been part of the school development program “Play@Heart” under Playful Learning, funded by the LEGO Foundation. In the next two and a half years we are part of a new Playful Learning project, “I want to be a part of it,” where we will continue to delve into the potential of play for learning and participation opportunities for all students; both in the large and the smaller school communities.

Our social life at the school

At Lyngholmskolen we have a strong collegial community. In addition to being professionals together, we also have fun and enjoy each other’s company. Our staff room is always filled with lovely and welcoming colleagues - including pedagogues, teachers, management and other staff. During the year there are opportunities to participate in a number of social events with varying content, which strengthen the community across the entire school.
