About the job

Do you have strategic acumen - and are you passionate about working at the intersection of regulation and management support to protect some of Denmark's most important infrastructure? Then you may be our new colleague who can translate colleagues' solid professionalism in the field of safety and emergency preparedness into strategic direction and clear messages. The job is an exciting opportunity to gain broad insight into Energinet's work to protect critical infrastructure, as you work across the organization and get close to central decisions.

”In step with the tightened threat landscape and the increased regulation of critical infrastructure, it is important for us to ensure that the law is complied with, and that within the safety and emergency preparedness area we are aligned with the security-political developments. We therefore need you who has a sharp strategic overview, can translate high professionalism into easy-to-understand messages and is motivated by working with regulation of critical infrastructure,” says department head, Henriette Kristensen.

You contribute to setting strategic direction for the protection of Energinet's critical infrastructure

At the office in Fredericia or Ballerup you will become part of the department GRC and Inspections, which reports to the Security and Emergency Management unit. GRC and Inspections is a newly established department that, among other things, is responsible for ensuring frameworks and coordination to protect critical infrastructure by translating requirements into operations and coordinating and handling dialogue with authorities on security and emergency preparedness, management support, etc.

You will have the opportunity to use your strategic insight and experience from the cross-cutting area between regulation and management support to gain concrete insight into Energinet's efforts to protect critical infrastructure. You play a central role in expanding Energinet's cooperation and dialogue with authorities on cross-cutting security and emergency management topics. You help build and shape the area, while you gain substantial influence on the content and development of tasks.

The role combines classic management support with governance, risk and compliance (GRC) and can evolve in step with both your experience and the organization's needs.

Your areas of responsibility include

  • Translate the solid professionalism of colleagues in Safety and Emergency Management into strategic, clear and easy-to-understand messages both internally in Energinet and in dialogue with authorities, etc.
  • Contribute to professionalizing ongoing management support in Energinet within the Safety and Emergency Management area
  • Maintain dialogue with authorities and the sector about regulation, e.g., coordinate cooperation forums with authorities, distribution companies, etc., and contribute to establishing Energinet's positions regarding legislation
  • Contribute to building a security management system in Energinet together with colleagues who work with governance and compliance, including translating requirements within safety and emergency preparedness into operations, ensuring frameworks and governance, etc.
  • Coordinate international work within the Safety and Emergency Management area, including coordinating and contributing to the work in the European Network of Transmission System Operators for Electricity (ENTSO-E), EU legislation, etc.

Experience from either a regulated company or municipal/state sector

We expect that you have a relevant academic education in relation to political-administrative processes, government dialogue, regulation, strategic advisory, and management support. For example, political science, social sciences, or public administration. In addition, you have experience from either a regulated company or municipal/state sector.

In addition, we are looking for the following skills

  • You have experience working at a strategic management level and a proven ability to translate deep expertise into clear and easy-to-understand messages for management levels, authorities, etc., both in writing and speaking
  • You work analytically and structurally and can create momentum in a complex organization with many stakeholders
  • You are collaborative and thrive in a cross-functional role where you need to work closely with many different colleagues – both within and outside Safety and Emergency Management
  • You preferably have insight into and experience within the security and emergency management area

As a person you thrive on working in a field that is developing rapidly. You can collaborate with many stakeholders and thrive in a department where strong collegiality, sparring, and knowledge sharing are highly valued.

We look forward to receiving your motivated application and CV no later than October 27. Mark your calendar with a couple of tentative dates: November 4-6 for the first online interview, and November 12 for the second interview in Fredericia.
