About the job

Do you have experience in programming and data processing? And would you use your technical skills in an organization that works to give children and young people in vulnerable positions access to safe relationships and communities? Then we would love to hear from you.

Who are we?

Mentorbarn is a medium-sized NGO that connects children and young people in vulnerable positions with volunteer friendship families. At Mentorbarn you will become part of an organization that works to ensure more children and young people have safe adult relationships and feel they belong in a supportive community.

We are based at Thoravej 29 in Copenhagen NV. An innovative co-working space in an award-winning building where everyone works in either social innovation, arts and culture, or biodiversity. If you like, you can become part of a larger community of social organizations, artists and entrepreneurs who host events and communities across workplaces.

What will you work with us?

  • Data and quality: Process and structure data so they can be used in daily operations and management follow-up.
  • Automation: Develop and maintain small scripts and automated workflows that can make administrative processes simpler.
  • Excel and reporting: Contribute to automation of Excel overviews, reports and management information.
  • Case filing/archiving: Contribute to the implementation and further development of Mentorbarn's digital case archive, including structuring, quality assurance and documentation.
  • Documentation and support: Document solutions and help colleagues use the digital workflows.
  • Analysis and knowledge gathering: Contribute to smaller analyses, data collection, desk research and processing of information for projects and development tasks as well as various ad hoc tasks in the secretariat.

You will not be left alone with the tasks. We work as a team and you will have collaboration interfaces with both our consultants in the secretariat and our social professionals who work around the country. In personnel matters you report to Mentorbarn's director and in the work with the case-archiving project you work closely with our program manager, who is also the data responsible.

We offer

  • 15-hour work week
  • A meaningful student job in an NGO where all employees have an important role in the overall task solving
  • Flexibility during exam periods
  • Opportunity to work on concrete data and digitization projects
  • Independent tasks with professional sparring
  • Supportive and backing colleagues

Who are you?

  • You are studying, for example, data science, computer science, statistics, software development, information science or another education focused on data and programming.
  • You have experience with R, Python or similar and enjoy solving concrete problems with data.
  • You are good at Excel and can learn new programs and digital tools.
  • You work in a structured and independent way and are mindful of quality and deadlines.
  • You can document your work and explain technical solutions in a way that also makes sense to non-technical colleagues.
  • You want to work practically with automation, data processing and digital workflows.

Knowledge of Microsoft 365, SharePoint, OneDrive, Power Automate, Power Query or automation of Excel- and Word documents is an advantage, but not a requirement.
