About the job

Do you want to translate your legal theory into practice and gain experience in case processing, contact with authorities, and legal procedures? Movia is seeking a student assistant for the Department for Control Fines, where you will become part of a dedicated and professionally strong team.

About the job

As a student assistant you will be attached to the finance area in the Department for Control Fines. You will solve legal and administrative tasks, both independently and in close collaboration with your colleagues.

The department handles written inquiries from customers who have received a control fine on the bus. Case processing includes decisions in control-fine cases based on data material, legal rules and established procedures.

Together with the department's other student assistant you will be responsible for reviewing and processing large amounts of data with a view to identifying customers and ensuring correct subsequent invoicing. You plan and monitor tasks in close collaboration with the rest of the team. At the same time you contribute to daily case processing and support the department's legal processes and workflows.

Your primary tasks

  • Review and processing of large amounts of data in connection with identification and invoicing of customers without a CPR number
  • Handling cases of identity misuse, including contact with customers, the police and other authorities
  • Preparation of pleading drafts for the Enforcement Court in collection cases in cooperation with the Danish Debt Authority (Gældsstyrelsen)
  • Contribution to the daily handling of complaints about control fines to a lesser extent

The tasks require you to work thoroughly and systematically and have an eye for both legal issues and the administrative processes associated with the cases.

About you

We imagine that you

  • are enrolled in a relevant higher education, for example law
  • work carefully, structured and responsibly
  • are curious and analytical and can work independently
  • have good written and spoken language skills in Danish and English
  • have a flair for IT and strong skills in Microsoft Office - especially Excel
  • enjoy tasks that require precision, perseverance and handling large data sets

It is advantageous if you have an interest in administrative law, data protection, debt collection or other legal areas of significance for public administration.

Meet Trine, student assistant in Finance

'I have been employed as a student assistant in the department for 12 months and from day one have been met with great cordiality and professional support from my colleagues. My tasks include cases of identity misuse and document forgery, as well as drafting pleadings for the Enforcement Court. They are educational tasks that are very relevant to my studies and provide a strong insight into both the law and society.

I also participate in the daily case processing, which gives me practical experience with administrative law and data protection law issues. Collaboration with the finance area has also given me valuable insight into cross-disciplinary workflows. The work is flexible and easy to fit around studies, and there is a strong culture of both professional sparring and community.'

We offer

  • an independent and responsible student job with relevant professional challenges
  • thorough onboarding and ongoing sparring with experienced colleagues
  • flexible working hours that can be tailored to your studies
  • 15 hours per week with the possibility of extra hours in busy periods and consideration for exam periods
  • working hours within normal office hours
  • an engaged team with a strong professional and social community
