About the job

Are you passionate about giving children and young people in vulnerable positions a helping hand into an active leisure life? Do you have knowledge of and an interest in club life and positive communities for children and young people – and are you good at working with a focused approach to coordination and talking to many different people? The Sports Development team in the Cultural, Leisure and Citizen Service Administration invites two student assistants for respectively FritidsGuiderne KBH and the Membership Subsidy Scheme for children and young people.

About Sports Development

Sports Development is a professional unit within the Cultural, Leisure and Citizen Service Administration in the City of Copenhagen. We work to make more Copenhageners active in sports and culture through collaborations and partnerships with the voluntary sector, self-organized communities and other actors. The department hosts a number of sport-social initiatives aimed at ensuring that more children, young people and adults in vulnerable positions have the opportunity to participate in an active cultural and leisure life.

About both positions

As a student assistant in Sports Development you will have a day-to-day with many points of contact, and you will both work independently on tasks and closely collaborate with your colleagues. The tasks require that you can build trust with families from different backgrounds and needs, and that you can navigate a broad field of actors.

You will become part of an engaged team with both consultants and other student assistants, and we have a strong focus on sparring, knowledge sharing and joint development of the initiatives. Everyone works to make a concrete difference for children and young people’s participation in positive communities.

Student assistant for FritidsGuiderne KBH

FritidsGuiderne KBH is a bridge-building initiative that works to give children and young people aged 3-17 in vulnerable positions a helping hand to start participating in a leisure activity.

As a Fritidsguide you will be a central part of the effort to strengthen children and young people's access to leisure communities. You will support families throughout the bridge-building process – from initial contact and clarifying the family’s wishes and needs to the child being well placed in a relevant leisure activity. The task requires a structured and persistent approach as well as the ability to build trustful relationships with families and partners.

Your tasks will be

  • carrying out bridge-building processes, where you guide children and families into leisure activities
  • telephone and written guidance on opportunities in the Copenhagen leisure life
  • coordination with associations, coaches and professionals around start-up and attachment
  • participation in outreach work, including visits to families, day care institutions and leisure offers
  • communication and possibly presentations to partners – including in relation to the Social Administration, school association weeks, etc.

Student assistant for the Membership Subsidy Scheme

As a student assistant for the Membership Subsidy Scheme you will handle the administration of the municipality’s subsidy scheme aimed at children and young people aged 3-17 from economically disadvantaged families.

Together with a consultant in Sports Development you will help ensure that the subsidies reach the right children, and that the applying associations receive the right help and guidance. The task requires a systematic approach and a high level of service to the involved parties.

Your tasks will be

  • processing applications, including approvals and disbursements
  • telephone and written guidance to associations, professionals and parents about the possibilities and framework of the scheme
  • contributing to ongoing methodological development and financial follow-up
  • ongoing coordination with FritidsGuiderne on applications

We are looking for

For both positions it is a requirement that you are an active student in a higher education program and have at least two years left of your studies.

Particularly for the student assistant position at the Membership Subsidy Scheme it is important that you have experience working systematically in Excel and can maintain an overview of large amounts of data.

In addition we place weight on for both positions that you

  • are interested in club life and various sports and leisure offers
  • have good collaboration skills and thrive in an outgoing role with a wide range of contact, where you are in dialogue with many different people both by phone, in writing and in person
  • work structured and keep an overview – also in a busy daily life
  • can advise and communicate in both Danish and English in writing and speech
  • are a clear and empathetic communicator who is passionate about making a difference for the families we work with

Conditions of employment

The positions are 15 hours per week and preferably filled in early January 2027.

Workplace is Sports Development, Cultural, Leisure and Citizen Service Administration at Nyropsgade 3, Copenhagen V.

Work may occur outside of ordinary working hours, as we collaborate with associations and volunteers – particularly relevant for the position with FritidsGuiderne KBH.

Salary and terms of employment follow the applicable collective agreement with the City of Copenhagen and within the framework of local salary formation.

We require a child protection declaration and references in connection with the employment.
