Student Advisor - make a difference for your fellow students

Are you a student in the Physiotherapy programme and eager to use your experience to support others? Do you have energy, are you good at listening, and would you like to be part of a community where you contribute to well-being and togetherness? Then maybe you are the one we’re looking for!

We are seeking 1-2 new student mentors who want to be a support for fellow students – academically, socially and personally. You will play an important role in the study environment and work closely with the programme’s instructors and management.

What does a student mentor do?

As a student mentor you are a resource person who

• is a role model and sparring partner for fellow students
• helps create an overview of the studies and their requirements
• listens and supports fellow students who need a talk about study life
• contributes to well-being and community at the education/program
• participates in activities such as study start, open house and high school visits
• helps to retain fellow students in the programme

You will become part of a team of mentors and work closely with the responsible teacher and the educational management. You will also have the opportunity to help shape the study environment and make a real difference.

Who are you?

We imagine that you

• are a student in the Physiotherapy programme at UCL
• want to engage in the study environment
• are approachable, good at communicating and have an overview
• perhaps have experience with mentoring or voluntary work – but this is not a requirement

It is expected that you participate in the basic course for student mentors.

Remuneration and start date

You will be employed on 1 January 2027 or by agreement.

Working hours will vary, but with an average of around 10 hours per month.

You will be employed and paid as a student assistant in accordance with The Joint Collective Agreement between the Ministry of Finance and Public Employees Organisations – the state area (OAO - joint collective agreement) and the organisational agreement for office clerks, laboratory technicians and IT workers (HK) . The employment is conditional on you being an active student.
