About the job
Do you have experience with the “difficult conversations”? Do you have a flair for questioning technique and systematic work, and do you enjoy concept development and training your nearest colleagues? Then FE is looking for you.
You will have influence and room to develop
FE is seeking a subject supervisor with a sense for concept development and training for the service’s security conversations. The Security Clearances Section is responsible for security-clearing employees in the Defence. In certain functions and positions in the Defence, employees handle so sensitive information that an extended security investigation is conducted, including a security interview.
As the subject supervisor for the security interview, the task includes, among other things, ensuring the quality of the interview concept and functioning as a professional mentor, supervisor and sparring partner for the interviewers who conduct the conversations. Part of the job as subject supervisor is to gain experience with the interview concept and to train the section’s interviewers. Therefore the position also involves conducting security interviews.
The interviews form the basis for a personal and credibility assessment. Therefore, interviewers must be able to build a safe and confidential space while using questioning techniques and reading dynamics in the room. The subject supervisor is responsible for creating the framework for this task, which places high professional demands and requires a solid portion of initiative and willingness to collaborate with the different profiles in the section.
As an employee in the Security Clearances Section, you will also encounter diverse profiles, both civilian and military. The section is characterized by good collegiality and a high pace of work. The section handles diverse tasks with both short and long deadlines and varying resource pressures.
In addition, we place great emphasis on each other’s well-being and continuously keep an eye on looking after one another, across the employee and management groups.
You and your background matter
It is not decisive which background you have – you may have a background in the Police, the Defence, work as a psychologist, social worker, journalist, or something completely different. The decisive factor is that you have experience with conversations, a sense for concept development and a desire to train and spar with colleagues about the conversations as well as the assessment of the information the conversations are meant to uncover.
To succeed in the task, good collaboration skills are important. It is also important to be able to maintain an overview and identify inconsistencies between different sources and to execute on the tasks.
Furthermore, you must be able to handle and conduct conversations – including the difficult ones – with the broad palette of employees employed in the Defence. You must also be able to balance concept development with respect for existing governing provisions and experiences with the conversation tool.
Your new workplace
The Danish Defence Intelligence Service (FE) is Denmark’s foreign intelligence service and works – both secretly and openly – to protect Denmark and Danish interests in a changing world.
You will become part of a very special organization where we stand together to solve an important task. Many of your future colleagues are passionate about making a difference, and we have a strong professional and social cohesion. Because we cannot talk much about our work with friends and family, a very special bond is created with your colleagues.
For us, it is not easy to take work home, as we work with confidential information. On the other hand, we offer a high degree of flexibility in planning your working hours, and when you are not at work, you have complete freedom.
We place great emphasis on social cohesion, supported by events such as a Friday bar and board game café. You also have the option to join various professional forums that cross the organization. We also have a sports association where you can engage in different types of exercise in the company of your colleagues.
As an employee of FE, you are subject to certain special terms. It is required that you can obtain and maintain security clearance during your entire employment. As in the rest of the Defence, you may be required to be deployed abroad on short notice if the need arises. You can read more about FE on our website www.fe-ddis.dk, where you can find our “INLOOK” and gain a more detailed insight into FE’s tasks, FE as a workplace, and further information about employment questions.
