Sunday hours with an active boy

Would you like to spend some active hours together with a boy who loves outings, sandbox play and outdoor life? Then this could be a meaningful task for you!

About the assignment

We are seeking a staff member for a 5-year-old boy with Angelman syndrome. He communicates primarily nonverbally through facial expressions, gestures, and body language, and he needs a present adult who can read his signals and create safe boundaries around the time together.

The purpose of the intervention is to relieve the family and give the boy the opportunity for good experiences outside the home. He particularly enjoys being outdoors and loves, among other things, trips to the beach, to the park, or a stroll around town. He also loves playing in the sandbox or taking a walk in a stroller.

The boy needs to use his energy during the day and benefits from a calm and clear approach. He can become frustrated when things do not happen immediately, and here it is important that you can create predictability and support him in a safe way.

As part of the task you should be willing to assist with personal care in the form of diaper changes.

About you

You are patient and good at building relationships, while at the same time you can set clear boundaries and create security around the activities. You thrive on being active and are keen to participate in play, walks and outings based on the boy's interests and needs. It is an advantage if you have knowledge of Angelman syndrome, but it is not a requirement.

Working hours

One Sunday per month from 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM.
