Beads, puzzles and reading aloud with a boy – 17.5 hours per week

Would you like a stable everyday routine with play, presence, and time to get to know one boy well? In Viborg we are looking for a helper who can create good afternoons for a 7-year-old boy and tailor the time together to his energy and daily form.

About the task

A trip to the playground, a puzzle or a book on the sofa. You will become part of the afternoons with a cheerful, quick-witted and attentive boy with many interests and a good imagination. He especially likes beads, games, iPad and reading aloud.

You pick him up at school in a pull-along wagon and assess whether there is energy for a stop at the playground on the way home. At home you give him afternoon snack and take the initiative for activities you can do together.

The boy has a hip condition that causes him pain and makes him easily tired. Therefore you must be able to read his signals and find the balance between play and rest without pressuring him. He also loves pressure massage, which helps him relax.

About you

You can be unskilled or educated as a pedagogue, occupational therapist or teacher. The key is that you thrive in a close 1:1 relationship and can create a safe and predictable framework.

You take the time to get to know the boy and meet him with calm and patience. You can follow his initiatives and at the same time adapt the activities when pain or fatigue requires a different tempo.

Working hours

The position is 17.5 hours per week with fixed working hours Monday to Friday from 12:30 to 16:00.

Outside office hours there is always a staffed guard/phone, so you are never alone. Salary and pension in accordance with the National Agreement entered into between FOA and Dansk Erhverv.
