About the job

Are you looking as a nurse for a workplace with good colleagues and one of the broadest and most developing and interdisciplinary specialties, in the Clinic for Geriatric Diseases, then apply now!

We are seeking a skilled nurse, preferably with geriatric experience, and with an interest in continuous professional and personal development for the Clinic for Geriatric Diseases, in a position with day shifts in the clinic, weekend shifts every 3rd weekend in the ward, and two public holidays per year.

Would you like to become part of a small, highly skilled team in an exciting and broad specialty, as well as a good and inclusive colleague group, with a good work environment? Would you like to take the lead and contribute to good patient pathways? Are you suited for work in a clinic with an associated acute/subacute ward? Do you have an interest in and preferably experience with geriatrics?

Then you are exactly the person we are looking for!

The Clinic for Geriatric Diseases (KÆS) consists of a clinic and an acute/subacute ward with space for two patients, located on the same floor as Medical Ward 2 (MS2). With us you meet patients with complex and often multi-faceted problems. On the ward we receive patients from the Emergency Department, we themselves refer out according to current criteria, as well as subacute patients from the surrounding municipalities, whom their GP or the emergency department refer.

In our ward we carry out fast, targeted diagnostic and treatment pathways, where patients are either discharged the same day or admitted for further treatment on our Medical Ward. In the clinic we work among other things with fall assessment, CGA, dementia assessment and follow-up on complex patient pathways after admission. This means you will have a versatile working day, where you must be able to act quickly, work independently, create an overview and delve into the individual patient’s needs.

We work from a holistic view of the patient, where illness, functional capacity, living situation and relatives all play an important role. Interdisciplinary and cross-sector collaboration is a natural part of our daily life, and we have close contact with, among others, the municipalities’ acute teams, acute beds and home nursing.

In the Clinic for Geriatric Diseases and Medical Ward 2 we welcome you warmly, and you will be attached to the nurses in the team, who tailor the introduction to your competencies and pace of learning. We have a good morale culture in the department, where it is always possible to get sparring and help.

What exciting opportunities do we offer you?

  • A thorough introduction.
  • Exciting work with challenges and responsibility, where we build on your potential.
  • Competence development with participation in relevant professional forums, courses and the education "Acute nursing for the hospitalized patient on the medical department".
  • The geriatric postgraduate training.
  • A ward with high professionalism and focus on good patient pathways.
  • Close collaboration with our coordinators, the specialty leads and development nurse, discharge coordinator and interdisciplinary colleagues.
  • A varied job in both clinic, acute function and shifts on the ward.
  • Good colleagues.

We are looking for a colleague who

  • Preferably has experience and competencies within the elderly medical field from both hospital and primary care.
  • Has an interest in working with the geriatric patient.
  • Thrives working in a small team and has a good sense for short-term care.
  • Wishes to contribute with their knowledge and experience.
  • Wants both clinic and acute function work.
  • Has strong professional competencies and a reflective approach.
  • Wants to learn new things and develop.
  • Wants to contribute to the development and implementation of new knowledge for the benefit of our patients and relatives
  • Has an eye for the patient and relative perspective.
  • Is approachable and can work both independently and with others.
  • Wants to join a staff group where we take pride in good dialogue, good mood and a strong team spirit.
  • Familiarity with the booking system is welcome but not required.
