About the job

Do you want to use your nursing expertise in a strong multidisciplinary community and help shape a new regional health offering close to citizens' lives and daily routines? At the Health and Care Placements you meet people who for a period need health care treatment, care and rehabilitation.

We are a department under construction, and you will therefore have ample opportunity to put your mark on workflows, professionalism, and collaboration in the department.

You will be part of something new

Citizens' Health is a new department at Odense University Hospital, which will strengthen local health offerings and bring treatment, care and rehabilitation health services of high quality closer to citizens' daily lives.

From January 1, 2027, Citizens' Health will take over the health and care placements on Langeland. Here, an offer with 8 placements is established. The goal is to help the citizen return to everyday life as best as possible through dignified, coherent and professionally strong pathways.

Your role as a nurse

You will become part of an interprofessional work community with nurses, social- and health assistants and helpers, physiotherapists, occupational therapists and the doctors attached to the Health and Care Placements.

As a nurse you will have a varied daily work with both independent responsibility, coordinating tasks and close professional sparring.

Your tasks

You will, among other things, undertake

  • conduct nursing assessments, evaluations and follow-up in citizen pathways
  • observe, assess and respond to changes in the citizen's health status
  • perform instrumental nursing care including IV treatment
  • administer medication, ensure correct medication handling and follow up on medical treatment
  • holistic care closely aligned with the core task
  • create security and coherence for the citizen and their relatives – and ensure good communication
  • coordinate and collaborate with both internal and external partners about the citizen's overall course
  • actively contribute to professional development, quality and patient safety
  • participate in developing relevant workflows and nursing standards in the new organization.

To succeed in the position it is essential that you thrive with both assessment and action on acutely arising conditions and handling of complex nursing in longer trajectories with a rehabilitative focus.

We imagine that you

are a trained nurse and motivated to work with citizens where there is a need for both clinical insight, rehabilitative thinking and close coordination.

We emphasize that you

  • are curious and eager to develop yourself
  • work independently and at the same time thrive in a multidisciplinary work community
  • meet citizens and relatives with respect, calm and presence
  • see rehabilitation as a natural part of care and treatment
  • contribute constructively to collaboration and the work community
  • thrive in an organization in development where not all workflows are predefined.

With us you get

  • opportunity to use and develop your nursing competencies
  • close professional sparring across disciplines
  • a daily focus on quality, development and patient safety
  • an individually tailored onboarding program
  • a workplace where we help each other and actively use each other's different professionalisms.

Employment terms

The position is generally 37 hours per week.

Working hours are variable and include day, evening and weekend shifts.

The employment is governed by the agreement between the Danish Nurses Organization and the Danish Regions with salary on the contract's basic pay grade levels 4-6, with placement according to seniority. In addition, there may be individually assessed allowances for competencies.
