System Developer (Azure and Backend Engineer) for Business Development

Would you like to help set the technical direction for digital solutions that support the Danish railway? Are you an experienced Tech Lead with strong skills in C#/.NET, who is motivated to develop themselves, make technical decisions and make other developers better? In Trafik, Forretningsudvikling we develop and maintain a number of digital solutions that support daily traffic operations and the ongoing development of the railways. Our solutions are becoming more complex, and at the same time there are higher requirements for, among other things, architecture, security, performance, integrations and quality.

Therefore we are seeking an experienced Tech Lead who can help set the technical direction and strengthen the software professional competencies in the section.

You will have a central role in our development environment, where you both work hands-on with development and have the technical leadership in an agile development team consisting of Banedanmark employees and/or external consultants. At the same time you will be part of the technical collaboration across our development teams, where you together with the other Tech Leads help create a shared direction, principles and solutions.

You will become part of a professional environment with software developers and data specialists and have a close cooperation with development teams, other Tech Leads, the domain architect and other relevant stakeholders.

Your tasks

As Tech Lead you will have a broad technical role with C#/.NET and software development as your primary professional foundation.

You will continue to be an active part of the development and contribute yourself to the design and implementation of our solutions. At the same time you have the responsibility for the technical direction in your team and for ensuring a high and uniform technical quality.

A significant part of the role is also the collaboration with the other Tech Leads. Across development teams you will help develop common principles, make cross-cutting technical decisions and identify opportunities for standardization and reuse.

Your tasks will include

• Hands-on development of applications and services primarily in C#/.NET
• Technical leadership and professional sparring with the developers in your team
• Architecture and design decisions in collaboration with developers, other Tech Leads and the domain architect
• Ensuring quality within, among other things, code, security, performance, scalability and documentation
• Participation in pre-refinement, where you help qualify upcoming backlog items technically and prepare them, so the team's refinement becomes more focused and efficient.

The role thus entails both responsibility for the concrete solution and a broader software professional responsibility. You must be able to move between code, design and architecture and at the same time help ensure that we work according to common technical principles across our development teams.

About you

We are looking for an experienced Tech Lead who has for many years worked professionally with technical leadership and software development.

We expect that you have at least 7 years of professional experience with software development and a couple of years in the role as Tech Lead or in an equivalent role with responsibility for technical direction and professional leadership.

You have broad and deep technical understanding and have experience with complex solutions where architecture, quality, security and long-term maintainability have been a natural part of the work.

We imagine that you have solid knowledge in several of the following areas

• Software architecture, design patterns- and principles for good software development in C# and modern .NET
• Event-driven microservices and distributed systems
• MS SQL and Entity Framework
• Automated testing, e.g. xUnit and relevant mocking frameworks
• Azure DevOps, CI/CD and modern DevOps principles.

You have an eye for the bigger technical context, but at the same time also want to continue to work with code yourself. For us Tech Lead is not a role where you move away from development. You must be able to translate technical principles and architectural decisions into concrete solutions together with your team.

Technical leadership through collaboration

As Tech Lead you take responsibility for the technical direction, but you do so in close collaboration with others.

You can set direction and make decisions when needed, while actively involving the developers in your team and using the other Tech Leads and the domain architect as professional sparring partners. You can argue for your technical choices and are open to other perspectives and better solutions.

You thrive on sharing your knowledge and have experience acting as a mentor and sparring partner for developers with different levels of experience. You can explain complex technical issues in an understandable way and provide constructive feedback that helps your colleagues progress.

At the same time you take responsibility for the overall solution rather than just your own code. You have an eye for quality, security and long-term maintainability and help ensure that the technical choices we make in the individual team also work in a larger context.

As a person you are engaged, curious and proactive. You are good at building relationships across teams and disciplines and thrive in a role where you both need to dive deep technically, challenge existing solutions, create shared direction and help others succeed.

Salary and employment terms

If you are an academic, you are hired under the current agreement between the Ministry of Finance and a number of academic organizations for academics in the state. You are placed based on academic seniority and experience as a senior consultant or chief consultant according to the applicable collective agreement, which you find here and the Civil Service's salary overview, which you find here .

Depending on your qualifications there is opportunity for negotiation of supplements. There will be an employer-financed pension scheme of 18.07%.

Otherwise you are hired according to the General Agreement between the Ministry of Finance and Public Employees Organization – The Public Sector Agreement (OAO-S general agreement) as well as the HK/KODEX agreement. The position is initially placed in salary group 5 Copenhagen according to the applicable agreement, which you find here and the Civil Service's salary overview, which you find here .

Depending on your qualifications there is possibility for negotiation of supplements. There will be a employer-financed pension scheme of 16% attached to the total salary.
