Team leader who is passionate about employment initiatives

Important tasks for the Danish labor market

STAR Vestdanmark plays an important role in translating reforms and agreements in the field of employment into practice and thus supports the development of the Danish labor market. You will become part of a close professional collaboration with colleagues across STAR offices in Brønderslev, Odense and Copenhagen.

STAR will be an open and welcoming agency in close dialogue with the outside world. You will therefore also have contact with our stakeholders and contribute to ensuring that relevant knowledge, experiences and good solutions are shared and put into play.

There are about 30 employees at STAR's Aalborg office. The office plays a central role in the implementation of Ungeløftet and the employment reform agreed in April 2025. STAR Vestdanmark contributes to this among other ways through facilitation of networks and events as well as work with the new results follow-up for municipalities and unemployment insurance funds. The office also has tasks within knowledge and data products, the alert area and servicing the regional employment councils.

The office also runs STAR's national hotline and receives written inquiries from actors in the employment landscape. All of these tasks are carried out in collaboration with STAR's regional office in Odense and other units in Haraldshus, Copenhagen.

In addition, the office contributes with case processing in the EEA area and supervision at Danish airports. These are tasks solved in collaboration with STAR Vestdanmark's other location, the Brønderslev office.

Strong in leadership and implementation

You will have the managerial responsibility for a team of about 10-15 employees who, in various ways, work with implementation tasks and have contact with employment actors and other stakeholders.

You must help create a daily work life where employees thrive, and an environment where they are challenged and developed.

Both the actor landscape and STAR are undergoing a transformation in connection with the employment reform, which sets new demands on the organization and task solving. It also requires clear direction and leadership. You must have both professional and managerial depth to engage in qualified dialogue with experienced leaders in municipalities, unemployment funds and other parts of the employment system. You must be able to listen, challenge and create a common direction, as well as represent STAR with credibility and impact – even when issues are complex and interests differ.

You will report to the Office Manager, Liv Holm Andersen, and join the management of the Aalborg office together with her. Together with the office manager and the team leader in Brønderslev, you form part of the STAR Vestdanmark management.

A part of STAR and STAR's new role

You will become part of STAR, a nationwide agency where we work with policy preparation, legislation, implementation, knowledge and digitization in relation to the Danish labor market. We do this based on four ambitions that guide our organization and the way we solve tasks:

With the employment reform we have gained a new role: We should have less focus on process and more focus on results, dialogue and knowledge in our cooperation with municipalities, unemployment funds and other actors. We imagine that you have an academic education (e.g., in economics, law or social sciences), and that you have experience with leadership. You have a good sense of strategy and governance, and you focus on recognizing, developing and motivating your employees.

Salary and employment terms

The position is a permanent full-time role. We would like you to start as soon as possible or no later than February 1, 2027.

You will be employed as a senior consultant with personnel responsibility under the state academic collective agreement. Your title will be team leader.
