About the job

Would you like to participate in operating and developing Region of Southern Denmark's clinical IT systems? – and would you actively contribute to the adoption of new technological possibilities?

We are seeking a technical service delivery manager who can translate technical knowledge into secure and stable IT solutions that support users’ needs.

About the function and the team

Regional IT is Region of Southern Denmark's central IT organization with about 500 employees. You will become part of the function area Clinical System Support, where about 20 colleagues work in smaller teams with high professionalism and close collaboration.

The function area was established in August 2026 and has among other tasks to support the administrative areas with technical advice and task solving in relation to the clinically oriented IT systems.

As a technical service delivery manager you will have technical responsibility for selected system areas – including speech recognition (TGK) and digital dictation (DD). We operate speech recognition (TGK/DD) in our own data center, and you will play a central role in ensuring stable operation and targeted development of a professional area in transition.

Speech recognition – an exciting and evolving area

For many years Region of Southern Denmark has used speech recognition so that doctors and health personnel can speak directly into the patient journal and other clinical systems, thereby easing the documentation task and making journaling more efficient.

We are facing a consolidation of speech recognition across three clinical systems

  • Electronic Patient Journal (EPJ)
  • Pathology
  • Imaging diagnostics.

TGK and DD are used in all region hospitals with about 3-4,000 active users (doctors, nurses, therapists, psychologists and psychiatrists).

The area is in motion and Region of Southern Denmark is continuously testing new speech-to-text solutions such as ambient listening/scribe, etc., with a focus on supporting clinic workflows without compromising reliability and technology maturity.

Your role

As a technical service delivery manager you have the technical responsibility, but most tasks are solved in close collaboration with e.g. TGK administration, TGK specialists, other IT teams and external suppliers.

Your primary tasks will include

  • Advising and collaborating with the TGK administration and specialists on operation and development of the solutions, including participation in cross-regional meetings
  • Close collaboration with other IT teams on:
  • release management, upgrades and maintenance
  • packaging and distribution of software and drivers for both Windows PCs and Citrix environments
  • Ensuring test equipment and planning/performing tests
  • Vendor contact and follow-up on agreements
  • Participation in projects in the speech recognition area and other clinical IT solutions.

You will receive thorough onboarding in systems, terms and workflows, so you are well prepared for the role.

Your profile

There can be many paths into the job. Perhaps you have a few years’ experience as a product manager or a technical service delivery manager. Perhaps you have worked as an IT specialist and now want a more coordinating role or greater responsibility with the operation of a critical IT system.

The most important thing is that you have a solid technical foundation and thrive at bridging technology and clinical practice, so decisions are made with a view to both users’ needs and Region of Southern Denmark's overall perspective.

It would be an advantage if you have knowledge of or experience with one or more of the following:

  • Windows Server and possibly Linux
  • Citrix
  • Relational databases – specifically MS SQL Server
  • General networking understanding.

We place particular emphasis on the following

  • have several years’ experience with the operation of critical IT systems
  • have experience with ITIL processes around operations and support, preferably via ServiceNow (Incident, Service Request, Change and Problem)
  • can handle complex issues in collaboration with different professional backgrounds
  • have good planning skills and can translate technical tasks into concrete, coordinated activities
  • can communicate clearly, both in writing and verbally, to both health professionals and technical audiences, and you have experience producing written decision briefs.

As a person you are analytical, independent and persistent. You are proactive and have an eye for where efficiency and automation can create value. At the same time you contribute with good humor and a constructive collaborative spirit. You thrive in a role where solutions are found collectively, and where a broad contact network and a dynamic daily life are natural parts of the job.

What we offer

We offer a varied and professionally stimulating job in the healthcare sector, where you work with new technology to benefit both employees, citizens and patients.

We strive to be a workplace with

  • room for the whole person
  • focus on balance between work and private life
  • good opportunities for professional and personal development.

Regional IT has locations in Vejle, Kolding and Odense. Your primary workplace will be in Odense, and you should expect travel within the region and occasionally to other regions. There is the possibility of home-based work days when you are familiar with tasks and the organization.

This is a full-time position (37 hours per week).
