About the job
Combine the present conversations about individual birth plans with baseline consultation and work on the delivery ward and/or maternity ward. We are seeking two midwives who together will form our new birth plan team – one with consultation in Greve and one in Roskilde.
At SUH Roskilde we are passionate about creating safe, cohesive and individually tailored pathways. We want to improve health equity and contribute to creating healthy and competent families. Now we are seeking two colleagues who will help lift this task with a special focus on birth plans.
Offer of a birth plan consists of a series of conversations with a birth plan midwife and is aimed at women with previously traumatic experiences, birth anxiety and/or desire for elective cesarean on maternal indication.
A position with both depth and broad midwifery professionalism
As part of the birth plan team you will have the opportunity to use your professional and relational competencies in conversations with pregnant women who need an individual plan for their birth. You shall, together with the pregnant woman and possibly her partner, explore wishes, concerns and previous experiences and contribute to a plan that creates security and a common direction for the course.
The position combines
- Birth plan consultation in either Greve or Roskilde
- Regular midwifery consultation with your own pregnant clients at the same site
- The rest of the working time on the delivery ward and/or the maternity ward, in mixed shifts distributed over the day and with work every 3rd weekend
You will thereby have the opportunity to dive into conversations and planning, while maintaining a broad clinical professional scope and close contact to the work that the birth plans are intended to support.
A team where you support each other
The two birth plan midwives will form a team with close professional sparring and shared responsibility for developing the function. You will each have your own consultation site, but you must together create a common approach to birth plan work and contribute to coherence between consultation and the delivery ward.
Participants attend vulnerable team meetings in rotation with opportunities for sparring with the family outpatient clinic and psychiatry regarding vulnerable families.
Birth plan work is carried out in collaboration with the department’s doctors, so the pregnant woman’s wishes and needs are incorporated into a joint, professionally well-founded birth plan.
A workplace with professionalism and a sense of belonging
With us you will find variety in your working life and the opportunity to develop your professional skills within both normal and more complex obstetrics. We are big enough to allow you to develop specialist knowledge, and small enough for close collegial relationships and a strong sense of community to shape everyday life.
We create together a workplace characterized by community, shared responsibility and integrity. We protect good collegiality and work with team structures so you have colleagues to support you, spar with you and develop together.
We can offer you
- A close collaboration with another birth plan midwife
- A combination of birth plan consultation, regular consultation and clinical shifts
- Strong professionalism and cross-disciplinary collaboration characterized by mutual respect
- An individualized onboarding program with support for a good start
- Present and trust-based leadership
- Shift planning with a focus on a sustainable midwifery life
We want you to
- Have an interest in birth plan work, pregnant women with special needs and individually tailored pathways
- Be a good listener and able to create trust and security in conversation
- Translate the pregnant woman’s wishes and needs into a clear and professionally well-founded birth plan
- Desire close cross-disciplinary collaboration, professional sparring and joint development of cohesive pathways
- Contribute to a good working environment and take shared responsibility for the department’s overall task
Onboarding
We are proud of our onboarding program which focuses on you and a good start, whether you are newly graduated or experienced.
We will organize an individualized onboarding program, which includes an introduction to specific tasks, meetings with relevant parties and a specific introduction to the departments that are meaningful in relation to your desired areas of work.
About the department
SUH Roskilde pregnancy and birth is a specialty department with about 2,500 births annually. Our delivery ward has seven birth suites, a maternity outpatient department, inductions and admitted pregnant women, as well as a maternity ward with 16 beds and the option for overnight partner. All departments are located next to each other. We perform specialty functions in the Region of Zealand, which means that we have varied obstetrics with many normal births, but also complex cases. We will move to new premises at Zealand University Hospital in Køge in January 2028.
