Nordstjernen is seeking a professional leader who can ensure a high social-professional quality, coherence, and legal certainty in the efforts around the children and youths who are placed at Nordstjernen, as well as the children and youths who are in respite and support stays at Nordstjernen.

Nordstjernen is a specialized children's and youth home for children and youths who have significant and/or lasting reduced physical and/or mental functioning.

Nordstjernens target group is children and youths from 0-18 years with the diagnoses

• autism
• attention disorders
• developmental disability
• multiple functional impairments.

Management framework and leadership structure

Nordstjernen has a leadership structure with an overall leader, a team leader, and a professional leader. The management has individual areas of responsibility that impose a high degree of independence and communication both internally and externally in the organization. We strive to lift leadership tasks in a strong leadership professional community across the organization, and we consider clear communication and transparency in decision-making processes as a fundamental element in a psychologically safe work culture with clear direction and high professionalism.

Leadership scope and responsibility

The role as professional leader combines social work case coordination with professional leadership and a special responsibility for:

• qualifying the overall practice.
• supporting and developing employees' professional reflections.
• ensuring that the effort is in accordance with applicable law for the area.
• ensuring quality in the professional communication with the handling municipalities.

Responsibilities

• Contractual responsibility.
• Visitation and matching.
• Quality assurance of pedagogical plans, status descriptions and prevention of risk behavior.
• Preparation and updating of safety plans and safety measures.
• Development and implementation of professional procedures and workflows.
• Communication with handling municipalities and participation in follow-up meetings.
• Participation in all meetings with external partners that concern the children and youths who are placed or in respite or support stays at Nordstjernen.

Expectations for our new professional leader

• You can create development and quality in daily task solving through professional guidance, documentation and close follow-up on professional practice.
• You have a relevant professional basic education as a social worker and experience from the special education field. It is essential that you are professionally well-founded so that you can act as a sparring partner for the top leader and the staff regarding professional task execution.
• You can work in a complex specialized professional field with many collaboration interfaces and relationships, requiring situational action.
• You can create an overview and have a flair for administrative leadership tasks that require close follow-up and a high degree of systematic documentation.
• You have experience facilitating processes and can organize, plan and create clear structure in interaction with others.
• You see employee involvement and an open leadership style as a prerequisite for a professional and safe working environment.

Salary and terms of employment

You will be employed under a leadership agreement with pay and terms of employment according to the applicable collective agreement and with local salary formation after agreement with the negotiating organization.
