About the job

Are you an experienced leader, known for your abilities to collaborate, negotiate, plan processes and at the same time be a strong finisher of the task, so please read on.

It requires assertiveness, a strong professional ethos and plenty of leadership power if you are to be our new deputy head of the office. In return, we can offer a portfolio of tasks with meaning, influence and a workplace with room to grow and strong values at the core.

We have about 15,000 employees across many different collective agreements, and a large part of them staff our operations around the clock, which means that the HR task requires insight, understanding and knowledge.

You will take a prominent internal role in our organization when our local management needs help and sparring, and at the same time you will play an important outward role towards the trade unions and other regions. As deputy head of the office you will have full, daily operational responsibility for the collective agreement and negotiations area as well as HR data. You ensure that the operational tasks are solved with high quality, a steady hand and within the deadlines.

The task and role as deputy head of the office

People, Negotiations and Pay is one of five offices in the department, HR and Patient Contact. We solve many different tasks, and we do many of them in multidisciplinary collaborations. This collaboration must be maintained, expanded and streamlined.

You will lead two teams with 13 professionally capable and experienced employees. Your main task will be to bring together, lead and set direction as well as support clearly defined work and areas of responsibility. The task solution must also continue to be optimized in close cooperation with colleagues in and across teams in the office. It is crucial that you see the strength in the interaction between the three areas and the office as a whole.

The teams consist of strong professional profiles with extensive specialist knowledge. The task portfolio in the teams includes, among other things:

  • Negotiations: Drafting of pre-agreements, negotiation of local wages and individual salary agreements as well as advice and guidance on salary negotiations.
  • Collective Agreement: Advice, interpretation and implementation of collective agreements, working time rules, vacation agreement, working time directive as well as preparation of local agreements and decentralized working time agreements.
  • HR data: Preparation of HR data for different forums, including sickness absence, staff turnover, staff information, access to records and development of management information.

We have a good working environment, and we are used to acting independently out in the organization, also when complex tasks arise day to day and flip priorities. We value trust and freedom under responsibility, and we appreciate plenty of professional sparring and dialogue, well bound together by humor and an informal tone.

In addition to the management task in general, some of the main tasks and roles for the new deputy head of the office will be:

  • to see and develop the potential of HR data as a management tool and support ongoing relevant decision support for the organization.
  • to set the direction for implementation, training and advising the organization in relation to new collective agreements and working time rules.
  • to continue optimizing negotiation processes and support greater collaboration across teams.
  • to negotiate with the trade unions, where the role requires you to have a good view of both strategy as well as durable and pragmatic solutions when it comes to cooperation with the trade unions and other partners.

You will work closely with the HR Head of Personnel, Jeanett Frandsen. While your primary focus is secure and effective operation, the strategic development and long-term lines in the area will take place in ongoing dialogue and close cooperation with the HR Head of Personnel as well as the rest of the leadership team in the office and in HR and Patient Contact.

In concrete tasks and in relation to strategic considerations on the collective agreement, data and the negotiation area, there will also be close cooperation with the HR Director, Mariane Therkelsen, just as there will be complex cases requiring dialogue with the region's management. Jeanett Frandsen says the following about her expectations for the collaboration:

I am looking for a leadership colleague who will be my solid sparring partner in daily work and is strong in leading both upwards, downwards and across the organization. You can work in a cross-field where you must balance empathy and clarity with a pragmatic and creative approach within the framework. Our days rarely look the same; I therefore look forward to having a colleague who meets unpredictability with a healthy portion of humor and drive, and at the same time can translate complex challenges into concrete solutions and progress.

Education and experience

Your educational background can look many different ways, and it is not necessarily decisive. However, it is absolutely essential that:

  • you have management experience.
  • you have experience with one or more of the following: the collective bargaining area in the public sector, labor law, negotiations and/or strategic use of HR data.
  • you have experience with HR from the public labor market/politically governed organization, e.g., region, municipality or state.

We expect you to lead with trust in your employees and in your environment. You have a welcoming demeanor and can be both professional and concrete – with empathy intact. In addition, you can likely nod to many of the following qualities:

  • You are a capable people leader who can guide, advise and spar with your employees, and you are a co-creator of a good working environment.
  • You are a skilled negotiator who can stand firm and choose the pragmatic solution, depending on the situation, and you dare to make unpopular decisions.
  • You are responsive, have impact, and you can operate in a field with many different and strong interests.
  • You are trustworthy in your communication, and you can convey complex knowledge and complex issues in a way that everyone understands.
  • You have a good eye for strategic communication both internally and externally, and you actively contribute that HR and Patient Contact are visible with advice, guidance and news to the region
