About the job

The Pre-hospital Care is seeking experienced ambulance clinicians, paramedics or nurses for the illness-visit vehicle in Lægevagtens Natberedskab in Randers with a start on March 1, 2027.

Would you like to become part of one of the three emergency services that respond to home visits for citizens with acute non-life-threatening illness or injury during night hours under Lægevagtens Natberedskab?

This is a relatively new regional function and task where experienced ambulance clinicians, paramedics and nurses help to manage and develop a completely new and exciting portfolio within the pre-hospital field.

We are now seeking new colleagues for our team in Randers who can start on March 1, 2027 or by agreement. You will undergo a training program before you enter operations.

You will receive an exciting position in an active and challenging environment with good opportunities to develop the position and, not least, the regional function.

Illness-visit vehicles in Lægevagtens Natberedskab

As an employee in the illness-visit vehicles in Lægevagtens Natberedskab, you undertake illness visits to citizens who are tele-triaged by doctors and nurses in Lægevagtens Natberedskab in the hours from 23:00–08:00.

Here you are responsible for conducting a competent and compassionate examination, assessment and treatment of citizens. The tasks are carried out in consultation with doctors in Lægevagtens Natberedskab, which you conference with via telephone or video.

Illness-visit vehicles primarily handle subacute tasks, but you will also be available for selected time-critical conditions such as cardiac arrest together with an ambulance and an emergency doctor vehicle.

The illness-visit vehicles are single-operator and handle illness visits during the night hours 23:00-08:00 every day of the year.

Competence lift

The tasks in Lægevagtens Natberedskab are new for both paramedics, ambulance clinicians and nurses. We therefore emphasize that you as an employee receive a solid professional foundation to perform the function. You can therefore look forward to a focused training program consisting of both theory and practice.

We prefer that you already have experience in the acute field. The training builds on this experience and will give you a basic understanding of the primary health care issues you will handle in Lægevagtens Natberedskab. It will also give you tools to examine, assess and treat the citizen in consultation with a doctor.

Instruction for the training is primarily provided by experienced specialists.

Opportunity for a preferred position

You will initially be employed for one shift per week. You will thus become part of a total team of 26 employees.

If you are ambulance-trained, you will have the option to combine shifts in the nurse-led Natberedskab with shifts on one of the Pre-hospital Ambulances (12-hour shifts). The collective agreement also allows for combining the position with a 24-hour stand-by role.

If you are a nurse, you will be employed by specific agreement in combination with other clinical functions.

There are good possibilities for individual solutions where you have influence on the final composition of your position.

If you apply for the nurse position, it is possible to combine the field-work with shifts as a triage nurse.

Your profile

  • You are a trained ambulance clinician, paramedic or nurse.
  • You are professionally grounded and have experience with acute illness or injury (e.g., pre-hospital, in-hospital or in municipal settings).
  • You want to bring your professional expertise into play in new ways and contribute to the development of the pre-hospital area.
  • You have an interest in the subacute patient.
  • You are good at communicating and collaborating across professional groups and across the organization.
  • You have a good and reassuring demeanor and behavior in interactions with citizens.

Ambulance personnel must have driving license category B and C. Nurses must have driving license category B.

Criminal record and child disclosure will be obtained.

Come to Information Evening

We will hold an information meeting on Thursday, November 5, from 16.30 – 18.00 at Olof Palmes Allé 34, 8200 Aarhus N.

Here you will have the opportunity to hear more about Lægevagtens Natberedskab and the different functions. There is also the possibility to see an illness-visit vehicle.

Registration must be done via email: [email protected]

Your new workplace

You will be employed by the Pre-hospital Department. You will be primarily attached to the base at Ribevej in Randers. However, you should expect to drive to tasks across the entire region.

Salary and terms of employment in accordance with the applicable collective agreement with FOA (ambulance personnel) or DSR (nurses).

How to apply

You can easily apply for the position via the "send application" link at the bottom of the page. You will be asked to fill in contact details as well as attach a motivated application and an updated CV.

In your application, please describe your preferences for the position combination.

We are also seeking new colleagues for our illness-visit vehicles in Aarhus and Herning. If you are interested in employment at multiple locations, you are welcome to note this in your application. You will find the job postings on the Pre-hospital Service’s website .

Application deadline: Jan 8, 2027. Interviews will be held Wednesday Jan 19, 2027.
