About the job

Service and Emergency Services in Horsens Municipality are seeking an engaged and visible cleaning supervisor for a newly established district in the Cleaning Department.

The Cleaning Department is one of 8 departments within Service and Emergency Services.

Whether we respond to fire, provide assistance to vulnerable citizens, clean in institutions, operate the ferry that connects Endelave with the mainland, drive designated transport for children and the elderly, service the recycling centers, maintain and care for infrastructure and recreational areas, support the many cultural and event offerings, or keep the home care vehicles running – it is all with the overarching purpose of ensuring good and safe conditions for the citizens of Horsens Municipality.

We are located at Endelavevej 5 and 14, 8700 Horsens, and in total we are almost 600 employees.

With us you will be part of a workplace with high ceilings, strong camaraderie and a culture where cooperation and development go hand in hand.

In the Cleaning Department, our ambition is to deliver service‑oriented cleaning of good quality in a safe working environment. Customers and employees can expect us to be solution‑oriented and structured. We focus on both the people and the good collaboration, and we are curious about new knowledge and development.

With us you gain stability and clear lines, and we place importance on decency and mutual respect.

You will become part of a department with

  • 1 department head
  • 4 cleaning supervisors and 4 inspection assistants
  • 1 administrative coordinator

We are a strong and close team that works closely together and helps each other across the organization.

As a cleaning supervisor, you will have responsibility for a newly established district with approximately 50-60 employees and around 40 customers in the municipality's buildings. You will also have an inspection assistant attached, who acts as your close collaborator in daily operations.

The district covers a broad portfolio of municipal buildings and institutions, including schools, day care centers, sports halls, nursing homes, libraries, youth clubs, recycling stations, and other municipal facilities. It provides an exciting and varied leadership task where no day is the same.

The district hosts a diverse group of employees with different professional backgrounds. It requires that you as a leader can meet people with curiosity and respect, understand local cultures, and at the same time create a shared identity and direction across the organization.

Employees work at different times of the day and at many different workplaces. Some meet early in the morning to prepare the day’s activities, while others finish their workday late in the evening. This requires your ability to plan, prioritize, and create presence in leadership in an organization with large geographic and operational spread.

You should thrive with many collaboration interfaces and be able to maintain an overview of a wide range of contracts, tasks, and stakeholders. At the same time, it is expected that you can translate strategic goals into concrete actions and ensure high quality in task completion across the district's many units.

We are therefore looking for a leader who is motivated by complexity, sees opportunities in diversity, and can create shared direction, engagement, and results through trusting collaboration.
