About the job

We are looking for two new colleagues who will help ensure professionally strong handling of applications for residence and work permits for foreigners in Greenland, as well as concrete guidance for both employees and employers in our citizen center in Nuuk.

About the position

You will become part of our unit in Nuuk, which opened in autumn 2025, where you will have the opportunity to influence both case handling and citizen service in this unit. We are currently staffed with five skilled employees and a unit manager.

As our new colleague you will be part of a unit where our shared goal is to ensure efficient workflows so that we can make correct decisions within the set service targets and to provide professional and concrete guidance to both employees and employers.

The unit is established in good office facilities in Nuuk. The office location provides easy access to the city center with dining options, a cinema and shopping, and is also within short distance to Nuuk’s many facilities and the beautiful Greenlandic nature with opportunities for skiing, boat trips and hiking.

For further information about daily life in Nuuk, please refer to the municipality’s website here.

Your everyday life with us

Your tasks will include, among other things, to

  • make and convey decisions that are legally correct and targeted at the recipient
  • carry out legal assessments, including whether additional information is needed in cases
  • contribute to clarification and development of practices in the unit
  • guide our users by telephone and in writing
  • handle personal inquiries in SIRI’s citizen center in Nuuk
  • collaborate with authorities and stakeholders in both Greenland and Denmark

What we can offer you

We take your onboarding seriously and make a special effort to give you a good start. From day one you will have an onboarding process where you are introduced to SIRI as a workplace and ensured that you are professionally equipped to begin case handling and to solve the unit’s other tasks.

As we are a smaller unit, there will also be practical ad hoc tasks in everyday life, and you will have the opportunity to contribute broadly to task solving.

You can expect, among other things

  • a unit where we value knowledge sharing and sparring
  • opportunities to continuously develop your competencies – through courses and new tasks
  • a focus on your well-being and a healthy work-life balance with the possibility of flexible arrangements with flextime

In SIRI we have an informal tone, and we are characterized by a strong collegial and social community across the agency. The cohesion in SIRI is great, and we will also focus on it despite the geographic distance between SIRI Valby and SIRI Nuuk.

About you

We imagine that you have a relevant academic background, preferably cand.jur. If you have another education within the social sciences or the like, you are also welcome to apply.

In addition, we imagine that you

  • are keen to support the development of our unit, and you either live or are ready to settle in Greenland
  • have experience with administrative law – preferably in practice
  • are motivated by concrete case handling and have an interest in the asylum/immigration area
  • work independently, in a structured and efficient manner
  • can communicate in writing and orally in both Danish and English. If you can also speak and/or write Greenlandic, that is a plus
  • are a good colleague and prepared to work in a team where we lift together and share responsibility for the cases
