At Vilvorde near Roskilde Technical School we train some of the industry's most skilled landscape gardeners. We are now seeking a professionally strong and engaged subject teacher who is passionate about the landscape gardening profession and eager to share their knowledge, experience and passion with the next generation.

About the job

As a teacher in the landscape gardener program, your most important task will be to translate your practical experience into inspiring teaching that prepares students for a modern and development-oriented industry.

You will, among other things, work with

• Teaching at the basic and main programs primarily within landscape technology, design and planning, cultural technology, climate technology and possibly the piping laying trade.
• Planning, implementation and development of practice-oriented teaching programs.
• Interdisciplinary projects in collaboration with colleagues and students.
• Academic guidance and support to students with different prerequisites.
• Participation in study trips, excursions, open house events and other activities where we promote the education.
• Ongoing development of teaching, learning environment and education quality.

Who are you?

You have solid experience from the landscape gardening industry and are motivated by developing people. Perhaps you already have teaching experience, or perhaps you are an experienced professional who is ready to use your knowledge in a new way.

We envision that you

• are a trained landscape gardener with a specialization in landscape technology or have a relevant advanced education such as horticultural and park engineer, urban landscape engineer, landscape architect or technologist
• have several years of practical experience with landscape-technical tasks, design and construction of installations
• have a broad professional understanding and can link theory and practice
• can convey academic material in a motivating, clear and engaging manner
• thrive in collaboration with both young and adult students and colleagues
• are curious about digital tools and want to work with, among others, Moodle, AutoCAD and SketchUp
• contribute with engagement, initiative, good humor and an appreciative approach to others.

It is an advantage if you have experience with teaching, curriculum planning or knowledge of vocational education, but it is not a requirement. We will provide the necessary pedagogical upskilling if you come directly from the industry.

Employment terms and application deadline

Employment as a subject teacher on civil-service-like terms. Salary and pension are set according to the applicable circular between the Ministry of Finance and LC.
