Imagine a morning where some children tend the kitchen garden, others explore life under a tree stump, and a group is on its way out to experience nature in the local area. An adult crouches down and listens to an important story, while a colleague helps the children find a way through a conflict. There is calm, presence and room for curiosity .

That is how everyday life at Gemsevejens Børnehus is.

We are looking for an educator who wants to become part of a small and homely kindergarten where high professionalism, strong relationships, nature, sustainability and compassion are the foundation for both children's and adults' daily life. At Gemsevejens Børnehus we believe that children do the best they can. We meet them as competent people with their own perspectives, resources and possibilities.

Our view of children is closely connected with our work with compassion, where empathy, care and community are central values. Through attentive relationships and respect for the child’s perspective we create an environment where children feel seen, heard and valued. We are a professionally strong workplace where employees share knowledge, inspire each other and take co-responsibility for the development of the house.

The nature is an important part of our pedagogical practice. With a large garden, vegetable beds and natural areas nearby, children have the opportunity to explore, wonder and learn through concrete experiences. For us sustainability is about both the nature around us and care for the community, responsibility for our surroundings and respect for the resources we share. At the same time, creativity has an important place in the house, where workshop and studio give children the opportunity to express themselves through creative processes and imagination.

A note from the parents' board

As parents, we experience Gemsevejens Børnehus as something very special. It is a place where high professionalism goes hand in hand with warmth, presence and care. This is felt in the traditions and experiences that the staff create together with the children. Every year the whole kindergarten goes on a colony, and the summer party brings together children, families and staff around play, community and good experiences. This helps to create the special culture characterized by presence, community and strong relationships.

We also experience attentive leadership that is close to both children and staff, which creates secure frameworks, clear direction and room for professional development. The leader has been part of the Børnehuset through all of the house's 28 years and has led for the past 13 years, which provides rare continuity and a unique knowledge of the house's culture, values and history.

For us, Gemsevejens Børnehus is not just a day care. It is a community we are proud to be part of, and we look forward to welcoming a new educator.

Practical information

Position: Educator.

Working hours: 30-37 hours per week.

Start date: 1/10, but we are happy to wait for the right candidate. Interviews will be conducted on an ongoing basis.
