Focus: holistic and general gynecological team
Women's health has gained increased attention, and we want to translate that momentum into even better nursing and patient pathways.
In the Gynecological Obstetric Department D we have high professional ambitions. We work purposefully with evidence-based nursing, quality and development, where patients' and relatives' needs and perspectives are central.
At the same time, the health reform and The New OUH give us reason to think big and rethink both patient pathways, collaboration and organization.
Therefore we are seeking a professionally strong and development-oriented clinical nursing specialist, who is passionate about the close clinical practice and wants to influence the future of gynecological nursing.
About the Gynecological Department
The Gynecological Department handles assessment, treatment and care of women with both benign and malignant gynecological disorders. The department consists of a ward and outpatient clinics, where patients are received for:
- kurgical gynecological procedures and postoperative courses
- gynecologic cancer (gyn-oncology) with associated diagnostic workup and treatment courses
- complex, chronic gynecological conditions, including for example endometriosis and pelvic disorders
- acute gynecological issues
The inpatient ward houses both acute and planned admissions, and we work with high patient throughput, short pathways and close involvement of patients and relatives.
The outpatient clinic handles diagnostics, control visits and follow-up, where outpatient contact and cross-sector collaboration are central.
General gynecological pathways range from shorter, uncomplicated treatment courses to more complex, often cross-sector pathways.
You will play a central role in strengthening nursing quality and the coherence of pathways across our sites in Odense and Svendborg – for inpatients, day surgery and outpatient patients.

You must be a visible professional role model, who through reflection, sparring and clinical practice inspires colleagues and strengthens the professional learning environment.
Even though you have a special responsibility within your subspecialty, we expect you to take an interest in the department's overall development and contribute to cross-cutting quality, development and implementation tasks as well as the work with OUH's nursing strategy and the department's strategic milestones.
