We are seeking a coordinator for the initiative "Children and Young People as Next of Kin" as of January 1, 2027 or by agreement

About the position

Region of Southern Denmark has allocated permanent funds for the recruitment of an employee to the role of coordinator in the implementation of outreach and actions for children and young people who are relatives of a seriously ill parent or sibling.

The initiative crosses all departments at Lillebaelt Hospital where there may be parents or siblings undergoing investigation and/or treatment for serious illness that could affect daily life and bring about major changes in the family.

A decision aid has been developed at Southern Denmark Hospital for shared decision-making on how children and young people are involved as relatives. This will be implemented at all Region of Southern Denmark hospitals, and it will be one of the duties of the coordinator.

The initiative is cross-sectoral and involves the municipalities in Lillebaelt Hospital’s catchment area, as supportive actions in the families naturally take place in the municipalities, while screening and general advice and guidance primarily fall under the hospital’s responsibilities.

The Center for Relatives Involvement will be a close partner in relation to developing educational materials, materials for families, and sparring on more.

Framework

You will become part of the staff in the Department of Children and Youth and a team of trained key people in the initiative “Children and Young People as Relatives”, anchored in the individual sections of the department.

It will be your task to be the coordinator for the implementation of the initiative in the other relevant departments at SLB and to collaborate with the municipalities in SLB’s catchment area

The position is generally 37 hours per week, primarily daytime on weekdays. You may have some clinic days depending on your background.

Based on your experience and competencies you will naturally be equipped to take on the task through sparring, relevant courses, and competency development.

Your profile

Preferably experience with project work/project management.

Experience with teaching.

Experience working with children, young people and families.

Willingness and ability to work across departments and sectors.

Preferably health-professional background, but not a requirement.
