About the job

Do you want a meaningful job where you can develop both professionally and personally? Do you want to help other people and contribute to a good daily life for older citizens in Copenhagen? Then a job in Home Care Inner City/Østerbro (IBØ) is certainly something for you.

Right now we are seeking engaged employees who want to help elderly Copenhageners live meaningful and secure lives. Your primary task will be to assist older citizens who live in their own homes so that their everyday life functions. You will help with both practical tasks and personal care – e.g., changing bed linen, helping them to bathe, combing hair, getting dressed and helping with meals.

We are looking for both you who want to work regularly, e.g., every 3rd weekend, or you who want a more flexible attachment as an on-call substitute.

It may be that you are in the middle of an education or further education and would like some paid work alongside. Or perhaps you would like to try whether work in home care is for you. It is an advantage if you have experience with the elderly or care, but regardless of experience you will receive a thorough introduction to the tasks when you start with us. If you are already a qualified social and health care assistant or aide, you are very welcome to apply.

About us

Home Care IBØ is part of the Health and Care Administration in the City of Copenhagen. We cover a large area across both Inner City, Østerbro, Christianshavn and Nordhavn. We are about 400 employees distributed across seven day shift groups and two evening groups.

It is easy to come to work, as the workplace is located 50 meters from Nordhavn Station – close to S-train, metro and bus.

With us we meet all people with an open mind and a warm heart, and we respect each individual's right to decide how they want to be helped.

As an employee in Home Care IBØ you have the opportunity to work independently, as you travel out to citizens on your own. At the same time you are always part of a team where you have access to professional sparring and support from your colleagues. We consist of social and health care helpers, social and health care assistants, unskilled workers and nurses, who work closely together and help each other.

Call or text to group leader Dorthe Hock at 23 99 55 12 or Britta Baagø at 26 87 15 24 if you want to know more about working as an on-call substitute with us.

The practical

In Home Care IBØ we cycle out to citizens. It is therefore a requirement that you are comfortable cycling in the city.

You can be employed as an on-call substitute, where you cover shifts e.g. on weekends, during holidays, when colleagues are in training, when sick or similar. It can be day and evening and on weekdays, weekends and/or holidays. You can also be employed in a fixed part-time position of up to 12 hours per week. The hours can be combined, so you e.g. work regularly every 3rd weekend.

Terms of employment

You will be employed according to the applicable collective agreement, and in connection with your possible employment we obtain a criminal record certificate and references.

We hope you can state as soon as possible.

When you are employed by the City of Copenhagen, you also get access to a number of employee benefits – for example discounts on training, experiences and things for the home through our webshop. See the current offers and discounts here .

If you have previously been employed by the City of Copenhagen, also apply

If you are considered for a position in a municipal unit, we will check whether you have been dismissed or terminated from the municipality within the last three years and share relevant information here with the hiring manager.

It may also be information about criminal offenses that have led to termination or expulsion from the City of Copenhagen, information about substance abuse such as a positive alcohol test or information about medical history that can have significant impact on a new appointment in the municipality. This does not apply to employment at self-governing nursing homes. Read more about reference checks here .
