About the job

We are seeking a social- and health care helper and a social- and health care assistant for permanent positions on our on-call night shift in Svendborg Municipality with start on 1 January 2027 or by agreement.

Do you thrive with responsibility, independence and high professionalism – and would you like to be part of a work community where we continually are curious about how we can create the best possible framework for both employees and citizens?

Then you might be one of our new colleagues.

On the night shift you will have the opportunity to use your full professional scope. You will encounter both familiar, planned tasks and situations that require you to observe, assess, prioritise and act.

You work independently, but you are not alone. We work as one team and actively use each other’s different professionalities.

Different professional disciplines – same team

On the night shift we solve the tasks together, but contribute with different competencies.

As a social- and health care helper you will, among other things, use your professional skills to observe changes in the citizen, create security and provide care and nursing. You are often the one who gets closest to the citizen, and your observations are important for the continued efforts.

As a social- and health care assistant you will have the opportunity to use your health professions competencies and make independent professional assessments. You must be able to prioritise, act on changes and help ensure the correct professional response when something unexpected occurs.

Common to both roles is that you must be able to work independently, take responsibility and at the same time know when to reach out to a colleague or another professional.

About the job

As part of the on-call night team you come into citizens’ own homes and meet people with very different needs. It requires professionalism, independence and the ability to create calm and security – even when the night does not go exactly as planned.

You will have close collaboration with your colleagues on the night team as well as the nurses in the on-call district nursing service, who are also at work at night.

For us, the work environment is as important as the professionalism. We believe that high quality is created through psychological safety, mutual respect and a strong collegial community.

We do not expect you to know everything. Instead, we expect that you are curious, take responsibility and dare to ask when you are in doubt.

We focus on a sustainable working life – also at night

Night work places special demands, and therefore we continually focus on how we can create good working conditions for our employees.

From December we will trial a new basic rhythm for a period of two months, where shifts as a rule are arranged in blocks of 2 or 3 night shifts in a row.

The trial is part of our ongoing work to create a good balance between operation, continuity and consideration for employees’ work environment. After the two months we evaluate the rolled-out arrangement and decide on the future planning.

For us, a good work environment is not about everything always being as it usually is. We want to be curious about whether we can do something better.

We are looking for you who

  • Are educated as a social- and health care helper or as a social- and health care assistant
  • Have a driving licence
  • Thrive with night work, independence and responsibility
  • Can remain calm and maintain overview in unforeseen situations
  • Are curious, engaged and professionally conscious
  • Dare to ask when you are in doubt, and reach out for help when the situation requires it
  • Communicate clearly and respectfully
  • Are reliable and contribute positively to the work community
  • Have a flair for documentation and IT
  • Want to contribute to a culture where we help each other, learn from each other and make each other look good

About us

With us you will become part of a night team where professionalism and job satisfaction go hand in hand. We prioritise psychological safety, visible leadership, close interdisciplinary collaboration and a culture where we help each other and make each other look good. We believe the best solutions are created together, and that a good working environment is the foundation for good care.

We offer

  • A thorough introduction with mentorship and onboarding by experienced colleagues
  • A section with good structure, planning and a healthy working environment
  • A dynamic workplace with exciting and varied tasks
  • Good opportunities for professional development
  • A strong collegial community and close cross-disciplinary collaboration
  • A planned shift coverage where the right professionalism is always present when needed.

The Elderly Care Area

When you work in the elderly care area, you meet a unique person behind every door. A person for whom you make a difference. With us you have the freedom to meet that person – perhaps with a small talk, in a difficult moment or with a helping hand.

We do not have a single ready-made recipe for the good elderly life, because we celebrate diversity. Instead, we make an effort to always meet each person with dignity, respect and high professionalism

We create the best frames for you to perform your work well and meaningfully, and we also have high expectations of your professionalism. With us you have the opportunity to use your competencies and develop them further.
