About the job

Are you a medical secretary, health administrative coordinator – or do you have a clinical background as a nurse or SOSU and want a more administrative and coordinating role?

We are seeking a new colleague for the Clinic for Breast Cancer at Rigshospitalet.

In the Department of Cancer Treatment, you will have the opportunity to put your administrative expertise to use in complex patient pathways. If you have a clinical health background, you will also have the opportunity to apply your experience with patients, disease and treatment in a new role focusing on coordination and administration.

What you share is that you will become an important part of patients' journeys and a central link between patients, doctors, nurses and other collaborators.

Your role in the Clinic for Breast Cancer

You will be responsible for your own patient pathways and a central role in coordinating patients' treatment.

Patient pathways can be complex and consist of different treatments, investigations, follow-ups and bookings. It requires you to create structure, maintain an overview and ensure that the individual patient pathways fit together.

A good knowledge of diagnoses, treatments and treatment plans is important to be able to plan and coordinate patients' pathways. It is knowledge you either already bring with you, or that you develop through your training and your work in the clinic.

You will work closely with doctors, nurses and secretary colleagues and will have an important role in creating good and coherent patient pathways.

If you have a clinical health background, we do not expect you to know all administrative procedures from day one. We ensure a thorough introduction and training so you are well prepared for the tasks.

What can we offer you?

A thorough onboarding program that accompanies you through your first year

Training in the administrative workflows and tasks that belong to the role

A role with responsibility and opportunities for professional development

A strong multidisciplinary community around breast cancer patients

A focus on both the psychological and physical work environment

A daily life where you contribute to making a difference for patients with breast cancer

You will join a total secretary group of about 36 employees distributed across five departments. In the Clinic for Breast Cancer you will be part of a smaller group where we work closely together, have an informal tone and a strong professional community.

We place high emphasis on professional development and education. As part of your professional development, after at least one year of employment there may be an opportunity to take the health communications training. We agree this individually based on your development and tasks in the role.

We expect that you

Are educated as a medical secretary, health administrative coordinator or have a health professional education such as nurse or SOSU

Have a desire to work with coordination and administration of patient pathways

Have an understanding of workflows in the health system – preferably from hospital settings

Are an experienced IT user; familiarity with Sundhedsplatformen (the Health Platform) is an advantage

Have a desire for professional development and to expand your competences

Thrive in a multidisciplinary environment and contribute positively to the community

If you have a health professional background as a nurse or SOSU, we see your clinical experience as a strength. The most important thing is that you want to work administratively and coordinating and are motivated to learn the administrative workflows and bring your health professional experience into play in a new way.

How you thrive with us

You are curious, engaged and open to new challenges. You take responsibility for your tasks and work in a structured way – even when you have several tasks going on at the same time.

Collaboration around patients is an important part of everyday life, therefore we emphasize that you contribute positively to the collaboration with patients, relatives and colleagues. You have an eye for both patients' and your colleagues' needs and a desire to be an active part of the clinic, where we work together to create good and coherent patient pathways.

Employment

The position is 37 hours per week and to be filled as soon as possible or by January 1, 2027. Application deadline: November 9, 2026. Interviews will be held on an ongoing basis.

Further information can be obtained by contacting the health administrative leader Mie Kroll at telephone 35 45 80 59.

Salary and employment terms are governed by the collective agreement for health administrative staff - collective agreement 32.09.1.
