Digital Post
What does it mean?
Digital Post is the official digital mailbox in Denmark. Authorities such as the municipality, the Danish Tax Agency and SIRI send letters there instead of by ordinary post, and the letters have the same legal effect as paper letters.
You get access to Digital Post when you have a CPR number and MitID. You can read your mail on borger.dk or in the Digital Post app.
Check the mailbox regularly. Deadlines for tax, residence permits or unemployment funds run from when the letter is sent — even if you have not opened it.
Some people can be exempted from Digital Post, but most new arrivals who work in Denmark should use it.
