International Citizen Service
What does it mean?
International Citizen Service (ICS) is a one-stop service centre for foreign citizens who move to Denmark to work. The municipality, SIRI and the Danish Tax Agency, among others, sit together so you can handle several things at once.
At ICS you can usually get help with a registration certificate (EU/EEA citizens), CPR number, health insurance card, tax card and information about MitID and Digital Post. There are centres in the largest cities, including Copenhagen, Aarhus, Odense and Aalborg.
You often need to book an appointment in advance and bring your passport, employment contract, rental contract and any residence permit. Check the current checklist on lifeindenmark.borger.dk before your visit.
ICS also offers general guidance about living and working in Denmark, and many municipalities have special services for newly arrived international residents and their families.

The CPR number is your Danish personal identification number. You need it for salary, tax, healthcare, banking and MitID — and you get it when you register with the municipality.
MitID
MitID is Denmark’s digital ID. You use it to log in to public self-service, Digital Post, skat.dk and your online bank.
