Positive Lists
What does it mean?
The Positive Lists (positivlisten) are official lists of occupations with a shortage of labour in Denmark. There is one list for people with a higher education and one for skilled workers. The lists are updated regularly.
If you have a concrete job offer in an occupation on the list and meet the requirements for education and terms of employment, you can apply to SIRI for a work and residence permit under the Positive List scheme.
Your education usually has to match what the position requires, and pay and employment conditions must match Danish standards. Some positions also require Danish authorisation, for example in healthcare.
You find the current lists and conditions on nyidanmark.dk. Because the lists change, always check the latest version before you apply.
The Positive List scheme applies to citizens of countries outside the EU/EEA, Switzerland and the Nordic region.
